Job Description: Teamcenter Functional Consultant
The PLM Teamcenter Functional Analyst will bridge requirements into technical capabilities and provides application capability options, generate estimates, sequence delivery priorities, configure designed solution, and perform testing to ensure achievement of the right outcomes. This role will be working with product, business, and technology leaders to focus on solving the right problems, in the right way, at the right time. This includes understanding business requirements working the technical resources on application design, troubleshooting, performing root causes analysis, testing, and end-user support.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Strong background and implementation knowledge using Siemens Teamcenter.
Understanding of overall PLM process and how Teamcenter is used to solve business area’s needs.
Including Bill Of Materials, Requirements Management, Change Management, Integrations with SAP or other ERP Software.
Understanding of how BMIDE is used to configure Teamcenter.
Gather and formalize business requirements for current and new Teamcenter solutions.
Working knowledge of AWC 4.0+ and how it can be used and configured to support Business areas.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business requirements, vetting against the scope of the new changes.
Validate requirements with representatives who will be affected by the business process or change and receive sign off from the stakeholders.
Collaborate with implementation team (including Area Architects, Software Engineers, etc.) to determine best IT and Teamcenter solution for identified business problem.
Collaborate with implementation team to develop estimates of effort for proposed system changes.
Create documentation (business rules, as is/to be flows, requirements, data configuration, use cases, functional specs, and testing forms).
Facilitate collaboration between affected groups to gain acceptance of the process changes and complete assigned tasks by the due dates.
Configure applicable system changes.
Analyze existing system functionality and business processes in the scope of the business need and design valued, cost-effective solutions that will efficiently function to support the customer requirements.
Validate configuration changes meet the customers’ requirements without negatively impacting existing functionality.
Identify and/or enter data needed in the development and test environments to validate configuration changes.
Document system configuration changes.
Perform the role of Release Manager/Champion as needed.
Conduct research on software functionality and changes (User groups, Product Support Documentation/OSS, etc.).
Collaborate with business group members to ensure the full end-to-end business process will function and meet business requirements within the project scope.
Create, communicate, and coordinate test plans and test cases (integration, functional, user acceptance, regression, security, etc.).
Perform the role of Tester or Test Manager as needed.
Provide training and mentoring.
Train customers, support teams, and the business on system changes, new functionality, new process, etc.
Mentor others on fun analyst activities.
Collaborate with the implementation team to provide early life support for the initiative, taking ownership for transitioning all appropriate information to teams responsible for long term system health and supportability.
Support service management.
Champion system support documentation quality.
Recommend improvements to, or new requirements for, business processes and operational procedures.
Participate in the service assessment by creating metric catalog entries, reviewing data compliance, and defining standards.
Analyze reports to define, escalate, and resolve risks.
Collaborate with the project manager.
Assist the Project Manager in assigning tasks and tracking the status of action items when called upon.
Assist the Project Manager with the project plan, as needed, including providing hours estimates for the work required.
Assist in the creation of a Communication Plan and a Risk Management Plan.
Provide process background information and history to the project manager.
Escalate risks and issues and assist with issue resolution management.
Participate in lessons learned.
Provide customer support.
Troubleshoot customer issues on products supported within the business domain.
Provide guidance for the support teams by creating knowledge articles, process and procedure documentation, and training materials.
