Operations

  • Manage and lead activities to ensure that systems and processes are in place to safely and efficiently meet quality and production requirements at minimum cost, within environmental guidelines and regulations.
  • Maximize the profitability of the newsprint operation by developing and implementing the operations’ five-year operating plan.
  • Accountable, within a framework, for the development of the 5-year strategic plans.
  • Provide effective site services to the Kapuskasing Sawmill and Forest Resource Management Groups.
  • Advise and/or recommend changes of opportunities outside of direct area of accountability that will contribute to optimizing the short and long-term growth objectives of the Group.
  • Identify market-related opportunities to maximize group or site profitability.

REQUIREMENTS: What you bring to our workplace

  • Education: University degree in Administration, Management/ Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in related industry and with preference in the Pulp and Paper Industry
  • Knowledge on various disciplines (e.g., customer service, engineering, finance, human resources, etc.).
  • Leadership and communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Bilingualism: English

  • Kapuskasing Newsprint mill is part of an integrated regional operation with three area sawmills and associated forestry operations with a total of 300 direct and 750 regional employees.
  • Kapuskasing with a population of 6,500, is a two-hour drive north of Timmins.
  • The town of Kapuskasing provides a number of recreational centers, clubs and social events.
  • Like most towns in the boreal forest region, Kapuskasing is surrounded by lakes and rivers, so the area is very attractive to those who like canoeing, kayaking, boating, camping and fishing.

Opérations

• Gérer et diriger les activités du site pour s’assurer que les systèmes et processus sont en place pour répondre de manière sûre et efficace aux exigences de qualité et de production à un coût minimum, dans le respect des directives et réglementations environnementales.

• Maximiser la rentabilité de l’opération de papier journal en élaborant et en mettant en œuvre le plan d’exploitation quinquennal des opérations.

• Responsable, dans un cadre, de l'élaboration des plans stratégiques quinquennaux.

• Fournir des services de site à la scierie de Kapuskasing et au groupe de gestion des ressources forestières.

• Conseiller et / ou recommander des changements d'opportunités en dehors du domaine de responsabilité directe qui contribueront à optimiser les objectifs de croissance à court et long terme du Groupe.

• Identifier les opportunités liées au marché pour maximiser la rentabilité du groupe ou du site.

EXIGENCES: ce que vous apportez à notre lieu de travail

• Formation: Diplôme universitaire en administration, gestion / ingénierie.

• Expérience: Minimum de 10 ans dans une industrie connexe, avec préférence dans l'industrie des pâtes et papiers
