General Manager - Electronic Security

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for meeting short-term business objectives while achieving long-term growth and increased levels of customer satisfaction. Deliver continuous improvement in all business unit related activities year after year through use of ACE tools and principles. Ensure that under strong leadership employees are developed to their full potential.
  • Ensure that business is conducted in line with ethical principles / EH&S policies & procedures and is fully compliant with the Company's policies and procedures including all Sarbox related requirements.
  • Operational Effectiveness
  • Ensure the business unit achieves both short term (monthly) and long term revenue growth targets both organically and acquisitively
  • Ensure the service portfolio increases year on year for all core revenue streams.
  • Manage all aspects of customer attrition ensuring losses are minimized and that addressable attrition reduces year on year.
  • Develop relationships with the key customers in the business unit to increase share of the customers' spend and minimize attrition.
  • Maximize the cross selling of all services the business unit provides to the customer base whilst engaging and developing relationships across UK.
  • Own, support and maximise sales along with the ASM/RSM forging sales engagement across all branch operational teams
  • Working Capital Management
  • Minimise the working capital required to run the business unit operation.
  • Be accountable for business unit stock levels, working with central shared services and the need for availability and forthcoming installations, whilst ensuring excess stock levels are avoided.
  • Through effective working with the central shared services minimize aged debt owned by the business unit.
  • Reduce the number of disputes generated as a result of business unit activity and rapidly resolve all raised disputes.
  • Maximise BCIP / CIP coverage through effective management of work in progress and optimising invoicing to customers.
  • People Management
  • Enhance the talent in the business unit by recruitment and development of staff, and effective performance management system.
  • Increase productivity by providing timely feedback to employees.
  • Motivate and coach both teams and individuals, recognising and developing key talents, setting clearly defined KPIs and objectives linked to strategy, completing regular performance management reviews and forming effective succession plans.
  • Be responsible for the effective communication of the Company's aims and objectives to all employees, to ensure that strategies are understood by all and business unit employees work together towards their achievement.
  • Work with management team to develop and introduce good working practices, robust action groups and employee engagement strategies to assist in the motivation of staff and reduce staff attrition levels.
  • Work with the training department and carryout regular training needs assessments to ensure employees are able to satisfactorily meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
  • Customer Service / Operational Delivery
  • Ensure business unit operations deliver the required revenue targets and meet customer expectations.
  • Improve productivity through a clear focus on: Sold margins, accuracy of estimation, net recovered margin, engineer productivity and efficiency and service 'do and charge' revenue
  • Ensure service levels meet all contractual and regulatory standards especially inspection performance and response times.
  • Maximise the percentage of standard products and services sold by the business unit.
  • Measure customer satisfaction via MFA ensuring overall satisfaction levels reach ACE silver levels. Ensure effective corrective actions are taken for all unhappy customers
  • Ensure the business unit achieves and maintains at a minimum Silver level status of ACE accreditation.
  • Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Complete quarterly ethics module as advised by Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)
  • Fully comply with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE).

You will have:

  • Proven track record of delivering results with full P&L accountability
  • Proven track record of operating at a senior level
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and manage, motivate and develop individual multi-skilled team members.
  • Evidence of delivering quantifiable results in a matrix management organisation
  • Commercially astute ideally within the Electronic Security industry market
  • Preferably degree qualified but not essential

Salary will be £70,000 to £80,000 per annum, plus attractive bonuses and benefits package
