About the opportunity

Be a collaborative mover and shaker at Minprovise to our clients and corrosion team as the head expert of painting & blasting, as our General Manager – Corrosion Control. Strategically source opportunities to grow the business and find new customers to impress. On a daily basis, you will play an impactful role as you lead and coach our team of supervisors, estimators, painters and blasters to convert corroded materials into works of art for our customers. You will work closely with the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer to develop the business even further, bringing your very expansive network to the table.

What is important to us:

  • Safety, safety and being safe. This is key. You are an ambassador for safety in our industry.
  • You are a skilled commercial executor. You know how to run a profitable, safe and successful business.
  • Quality, quality and top quality – when we say quality, your ability to inspire the team to satisfy quality standards is second to none.
  • You have an excellent understanding of corrosion control at an operational level. You may not be a Painter Blaster but you know what goes into stripping and painting a truck or a bit of mining kit.
  • You drive a strategic direction and you’ve proven you can do this for complex, multi-faceted businesses. You provide leadership across 3 x workshops and our site based operations.
  • You can get into the detail if you need to and lead a safety meeting, but you easily blend into a board room meeting, maintaining a great connection with employees at all level.
  • You are focussed on continuous improvement and creating fit-for-purpose systems, such as delivering a forward-thinking business case or an easy to digest financial report.

A day on the job is likely to challenge you in the following ways:

  • Keeping your team safe and ensuring the great team culture maintained, supporting your people when needed.
  • Promote strong leadership with a proactive and positive management style.
  • Driving the corrosion control quality policy and strategic plan, aligning to Minprovise’s business strategy.
  • Building up the business, like it’s your own.

What you will need to be the person for the job

You must have experience leading teams and driving strategy, preferably at a senior leadership level. A trade certificate or qualifications in painting & blasting are not essential for the role but will be highly regarded. Experience using MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is a must. Attention to detail, with a strategic mindset, will definitely impress.
