Description:
The GM FPA will be a strategic and results oriented finance leader. S/he will have strong business acumen and proven leadership partnering with a leadership team. Additional responsibilities will include:
• Driving annual and multi-year budgeting and strategic plans
o Developing key financial analysis to aid in business decisions, budgeting and forecasting, and cost structure analysis
o Overseeing key strategic processes including those related to Strategic Planning, Budgeting, and Annual rolling forecast processes, as well as any other key control procedures
o Partnering with the local leadership team to develop strategic multi-year plans and implementing processes to prioritize resource decisions and track the top investments and initiatives necessary to exceed future state targets
o Jointly owning the Sales Revenue and Margin performance metrics for the different business units.
o Working with the commercial team on tender analysis, growth and margin enhancement activities.
o Working with the Service Operations team to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness to meet customer expectations and margin improvements.
• Leading monthly and quarterly close and forecast activities, summarizing Business unit wise financial results and expectations
o Preparing and delivering monthly financial/analytical reports of business performance to management
o Driving, assessing, preparing, and presenting financial analysis and management reporting to business unit management, Direct Margin analysis with insights on impact due to price and mix.
o Assisting the Director Finance in tracking and driving targets and performance, Capital Appropriation Requests, Pricing and Tender Costing, Maximising Service business margins and productivity,
o Driving the working capital improvement plans year over year by closely working with business units, driving continuous improvements through Kaizen and ensuring sustainment.
o Conducting SG&A spend analysis, working closely with functional teams
• Leading the integration of new acquisitions
o Setting up the financial controls and forecast processes for these new businesses and integrating them into Fortive reporting processes.
o Help delivering the Returns on Capital Invested by setting up meaningful metrics and key action plans to drive with appropriate countermeasures wherever necessary.
o Conducting analysis of (but not limited to) geography, Fx, Operating Companies, price performance, customer profitability, risk and opportunity tracking and more
• Leading and/or participating in improving Finance organization processes, utilizing the Fortive Business System (FBS)
• Constantly reviewing the Business requirements and driving ongoing development and succession plans for the FP&A function in the region.
Qualifications:
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
• Chartered Accountant and bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 12-15 years of overall Finance and Accounting Experience with strong exposure to FP&A, and minimum 5 years of Financial Controlling experience.
• Exposure to Plant Accounting, Standard costing and Finalisation of Books of Accounts are necessary requirements.
• Exposure to basic taxation rules, Corporate Secretarial matters, Treasury matters and Companies Act would be added advantage.
• 4-5 years of experience with Big 4 would be preferred.
• Demonstrated critical thinking ability and strong financial acumen
• Familiarity with ERP and accounting systems (SAP and Hyperion)
• Highly analytical, detail oriented with financial modelling and reporting skills
• Proven track record of process improvement
• The ability to balance a partnering approach with firm stance on ethics, compliance, GAAP, etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities in a high matrixed organization.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical financial information to non-financial people.
• Advanced Excel Skills. IT literate good understanding of all MS Office applications
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience of managing teams across multiple geographic locations. Will be a key player driving the Finance Engagement Action Plan
• Experience of leading in a growth focused organization
