This role has accountability for driving and achieving the company's objectives and growth plans for Western Australia whilst collaborating with others to support growth and success across Australasia. A key element of this is ensuring high levels of employee and client satisfaction in Western Australia.
As well as a demonstrated track record with winning and retaining clients, applicants will show strong and decisive leadership, have a demonstrated ability to delegate, build a vision and support colleagues in Western Australia in achieving success.
The Role
+ Build and deliver a state-based growth plan focused on existing areas of strength and looking to interact with any National line of business (LOB) and Client & Industry Leaders to deliver first class service to clients (Particular emphasis on natural resources and local large to mid-market clients)
+ Use local knowledge, business intelligence, broad networks and deep expertise to source and win new major projects and clients
+ Identify and execute on opportunities to increase brand awareness of Willis Towers Watson, and broaden scope of services offered to clients, as appropriate
+ Maintain an appropriate servicing structure relevant for our WA clients that ensures service delivery including Claims is market-leading with account plans in place where relevant for key clients
+ Lead the implementation of relevant people practices to support the attraction and retention of high performing colleagues, including identifying succession plans for critical skill-sets and roles
+ Drive a client development culture including account planning and other processes to improve cross-business collaboration on client
+ Create a positive working environment reflective of Willis Towers Watson values including a collaborative team based culture that focuses on client success
+ Be attuned to the specific local culture that has developed in the Perth office and maintain/evolve/use this to help retain key success ingredients within the workforce
+ Ensure that all relevant communication regarding WTW Group, Australasian and local strategic direction is cascaded and that team KPIs are set having regard to this direction
+ Ensure that all core people processes are undertaken in an effective and timely manner by people managers
+ Develop state strategy and conduct joint business planning and budgeting with Head of CRB Australia, other state Managers and in due course relevant LOB leaders
+ Hold profit and loss accountability for the state, including revenue growth and margin improvement to meet agreed budgets.
+ Maximise team leverage and effectiveness of teams within the state across all product lines. Ensure linkage to all other WTW divisions as appropriate
+ Work with finance and others as appropriate to ensure and maximise client profitability whilst effectively managing client relationships.
+ Ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, tracking of revenue and effective cost management
+ Ensure the delivery of high quality work to meet client needs.
+ Manage client satisfaction as measured by relevant measures
+ Develop appropriate relationships in the market (insurers) and understand competitor situation
+ Contribute to the development, commercialisation and dissemination of intellectual capital through new ideas, research and innovative client work
+ Follow WTW compliance and operational policies and ensure business adheres to regulatory requirements
The Requirements
+ The ability to quickly build rapport with clients, external stakeholders, strategic partners and internal staff members
+ Knowledge of the Western Australia market and/or natural resources (mining) a strong advantage
+ Strong executive presence including an ability to network, influence and collaborate with a range of interpersonal styles
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation.
+ Demonstrated track record of success in winning and retaining large (for mid-market) or strategically important clients
+ History of delivering above standard financial performance, meeting all key metrics
+ Strong experience in, and aptitude for, people leadership and development
+ Strong understanding of business and commerce generally, the environment in which our clients operate and how the risk transfer process supports their overall risk management strategy
+ Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments
+ Demonstrated ability to explain complex concepts and making factual and reasoned recommendations to clients/client servicing teams
+ Track-record of delivery in operational and compliance areas
