Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Global Product Manager to work on a truly global brand and commercially product manage the Bupa Global IPMI product portfolio. This will involve being accountable for:

  • monitoring customer base in terms of new adds, in-life base and churn,
  • revenue and profitability at an overall portfolio level, core product line e.g. by segment Corporate, SME and individual
  • NPS of the product elements of the portfolio
  • KPIs associated with a commercial optimisation strategy

Main Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the in life and end of life of the portfolio
  • Define and execute a commercial optimisation strategy for the portfolio, harmonising, retiring and rationalising specific products to remove complexity and risk
  • Create a clear and well articulated product and service portfolio, across a broad price spectrum, maximising our coverage of consumer and customer needs
  • Own the revenue and customer targets for the portfolio and rigorously measure and manage it’s profitability
  • Outline corrective actions which are needed at a portfolio level to achieve commercial targets
  • Work closely with the actuarial team to ensure that we have an in-depth understanding of our in-life customer behaviour, which can be used as guidance and input into commercial decisions and reviews (round rate and rules)
  • Create, own and issue a 18 month portfolio roadmap view and guidance for the marketing leads
  • Manage and execute regulatory/rules review changes, ensuring that the portfolio is always commercially healthy and has customers at its heart
  • Analysis and reporting of product performance, continuously identifying areas for improvement, reviewing products trends and taking actions to address opportunities and customer pain points
  • Define and execute benefit led customer migration strategies, in order to optimise customer lifetime value and drive positive commercial adoption of new propositions and products
  • Be the commercial leader for the product portfolio throughout the business, working with technology and commercial teams to drive customer uptake and satisfaction

The Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to degree level, and/or recognised marketing qualification or equivalent
  • Business experience which should include managing a global product portfolio
  • Experience of conducting portfolio rationalisation exercises on a global scale
  • Experience of operating in a regulated market, specific experience in healthcare, or access will be highly advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a challenging and persuasive manner, to win and maintain the respect of colleagues across the business at all levels;
  • In depth understanding and knowledge of Bupa Global IPMI products highly advantageous
