As a Government and Industry Affairs Manager you will -
Engage in monitoring of developments in the region (as representative on trade associations and via consultants, advisors, network, etc.) to ensure Refinitiv is proactive on political, regulatory and industry critical issues
Develop and execute engagement plans with EU institutions and key European national policy makers, regulators, central banks, industry leaders and thought leaders in the region in order to impact policy and build Refinitiv’s reputation as a thought leader in our areas of expertise
Draft briefings on current political affairs on the basis of research and analysis
Play a key role in the implementation of the Government & Industry Affairs advocacy and regulatory strategy in EMEA and lead on tech government and regulatory initiatives, incl respond to consultation papers, primarily with a focus on EU and UK policy (incl. DORA, MICA, MiFID, Capital Markets Union, AI & FinTech, data localisation, data pricing, etc).
Handle with confidence, business leaders’ enquiries
Possess a keen interest in the policy frameworks developing for financial technology, financial data and trends in this area.
Understanding of and experience with effective public policy and political advocacy, public affairs programs
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a focus on effectively assessing opportunities and threats, prioritisation of focus, analysing and anticipating developments as well as emerging trends, threats and opportunities
Knowledge and experience in EU/ UK governmental and public policy affairs required, with some EU institution experience as it pertains to financial services
Business experience with fintech, technology and financial services
Comfort with ambiguity, along with the ability to process, synthesize and share significant amounts of disparate information and intelligence
Ability to build strong partnerships across all areas of the organisation and levels
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability and desire to work at pace

Bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred
