We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Grants Manager, Bangladeshi Youth Activity in Bangladesh.


FHI 360 seeks a Grants Manager for an anticipated USAID Bangladeshi Youth Activity. The project will aim to bolster youth’s income; resilience to violent extremism/ and anti-democratic values; and to provide youth the skills and abilities to advocate for good governance and to improve Bangladesh’s self-reliance. The project will build skills and empower in- and out-of-school youth to increase their employability, civic engagement and contribution to the economic growth of Bangladesh. The project’s three objectives will include: Increase civic awareness and resilience to anti-democratic and violent extremism values; Strengthen youth participation in community-improvements and decision-making processes; Improve the marketability and employability of youth to connect them to sustainable livelihoods and income generating opportunities. 

Only citizens of Bangladesh or residents with work authorization will be considered. This position is contingent on funding.

Job Responsibilities:

The Grants Manager will oversee an extensive portfolio of cash and in-kind grants to local organizations and ensure compliant selection, award, management, and close out of all sub-grants. The Grants Manager will oversee a selected grants team and will report to the Deputy of Finance and Administration. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Overall responsibility for managing the sub-grants that will be awarded under the activity.
  • Work with FHI 360 Grants Specialist to finalize the project’s grants manual.
  • Train all project and grants staff on grants manual and grants management system.
  • Work with program staff to establish and effectively maintain a compliant grants management system.
  • Coordinate closely with a team of program and grants officers to support local organizations in finalizing project proposals and budgets, and to monitor and report on grantee activities.
  • Facilitate grant selection process.
  • Maintain an online grants-tracking system and ensure compliant monitoring and reporting on grant activities.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to program staff and grant recipients.
  • Ensure that all sub-grant documents are filed and kept updated.
  • Ensure the effective close out of all sub-grants.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bangladeshi citizenship or residency with work authorization required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent from an accredited university in a relevant field such as international development, business administration, law or other related field; Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years' work experience, including at least five years of grants management experience.
  • Experience effectively supervising other staff members.
  • Familiarity with USAID programming, rules and regulations highly desired.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in English and Bengali required.
