We are currently seeking applications for role of Part Time - Group Accountant; the Group Accountant is responsible for the internal operations of the practice and developing, implementing, maintaining and controlling essential financial information for the firm’s entities.
This role is initially offered on a part time (2-3 days per week) with the option of ramping up to 4 or 5 days if desired at some point.
Preparation of Management Accounts for the ESV Group entities, and supervision of the finance assistant in preparing management accounts for the related entities.
Ensure integrity of data in our Practice Management and cloud accounting software
Reviewing weekly payments
Analysis of WIP and preparing exception reports.
Preparation of annual management accounts and tax obligation.
Ensure ESV adheres to our obligation in relation to payroll tax, PAYG and superannuation
Oversee management of Trust Account.
Cashflow management and reporting
Preparing / reviewing payroll.
Assistance in annual budgeting and relevant reports
Produce monthly reports as required by the business such as Billing & Collections and Productivity reports.
Proactively reporting to the Partner group on financial status of the partnership and its entities.
Ensuring that all internal policies are adhered to.
To mentor the finance assistant
To ensure that all finance processes and procedures are documented.
To assist in any ad-hoc projects as required in the practice.
Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in a similar role
Approximately 5 years’ experience
Bachelor of Economics, Accounting/Finance or Commerce.
An interest in ongoing education and self-improvement.
Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Well-developed ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Having a good understanding and knowledge of systems and methodologies employed within a professional services operations environment, would be advantageous
