For our Bioassays department located in Erkrath, Germany we are seeking an experienced
Head Bioassays (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Manage and Lead the Bioassay team. In this role you are overseeing daily operational activities and supervise this group to ensure optimum group performance
- Provide schedule of current and coming work and proactively manage resources
- Contribute to teams’ budget creation, maintain costs within budget, reach or exceed revenue targets
- Communicate with domestic and foreign clients
- Collaboratively work with other internal groups including project management and quality assurance
- Cooperate with marketing and sales about Bioassays and presentation of the company
- Lead a team of Supervisors, scientists and technical staff, develop staff via trainings and provide guidance through meetings including performance reviews
- Implement, plan and develop cell-based bioassays in a GMP environment
- Manage the laboratory in accordance with the Infection Protection Act and with the Animal Health Ordinance
- Handle of potentially infectious material, GMOs, cells and viruses under GMP conditions
Qualifications:
This position would suit an ambitious, flexible and team-orientated individual who is motivated to achieve results and is eager to lead people. You will also be expected to have:
- Education: University degree in natural science, e.g. Pharmacy, (Bio-) Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a service company in a biotech sector, CMO or CRO
- Profound knowledge of GMP quality assurance standards
- Expertise (theoretical/practical) in the fields of cell biology, virology, microbiology
- Good ability to build trustful and open working relationships in all layers of a (matrix) organization
- Very good communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate with various target groups
- Experience in leading and motivating people
- Strong organizational skills and ability to drive operations in a fast-changing environment
- Fluency in both English and German (oral and written)
