Urovant’s lead product, GEMTESA® (vibegron), is an oral, once-daily (75 mg) small molecule beta-3 agonist approved by the U.S. FDA in December 2020 for the treatment of adult patients with overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency and urinary frequency. GEMTESA® is also being evaluated for the treatment of OAB in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (OAB+BPH).
Urovant’s second product candidate, URO-902, is a novel gene therapy being developed for patients with OAB who have failed oral pharmacologic therapy.
Europe, the Head of Finance Europe will play an integral role in establishing Urovant’s European Headquarters in Basel and help drive its overall business strategy in Europe. In addition, s/he will have a material role to play in overseeing the services provided by the US operations.
The position will be based in the Urovant Sciences GmbH offices in Basel, Switzerland.
As a member of the executive management team for Urovant Sciences GmbH and responsible for the Finance, IT, Supply Chain & Administration, further responsibilities will include:
Establish FP&A and Accounting practices that are SOX compliant working closely with the US based VP, Accounting.
Business Partnering - Perform a strategic role in the operations of the region and provide financial support to the SVP, General Manager, Europe to drive business strategies and optimise business performance.
Establish management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting including the design of operating metrics reporting throughout the region.
Establish routine business processes to facilitate information flow and decision making between US and the EU operations
Build close working relationships with Urovant’s global CMC manufacturing team and key CMOs.
Management of the IT function throughout the region working closely with the US based IT department.
Oversee the Supply Chain and Administrative Managers ensuring appropriate personnel and training are in place and functioning efficiently and effectively.
Responsible for accurate accounting and processing of accounts payable for the region. Assists in month-end close for the region providing accurate estimates of accruals. Manages timely payments to vendors. Generate AP and payroll reports as required.
Manage on-time payroll to ensure it meets local regulations and Urovant policy. Prepare annual earnings statements for region-based employees and that all related governmental submissions are met in a timely manner.
Manage month-end close for region and provides appropriate reporting to Urovant management and GmbH board directors in accordance with Urovant policy and appropriate legal requirements.
Oversee the areas of accounting with current accountancy practice, including preparation of Swiss statutory financial statements and related annual audits, if applicable
Stay current in tax requirements and laws in the region and recommend tax strategies to management. Ensure that all tax requirements are met in the region on a timely basis and assist in the review of annual tax returns.
Collaboration and support in the design & management of Urovant’s transfer pricing policies
Interface frequently and effectively with other department heads to coordinate and prioritize planning.
Maintain strong relationships with Swiss banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
Bachelor’s in finance, Accounting or business administration degree
MBA ideally complemented with a recognized Finance/Accountancy qualification (ACA, CA, CIMA, ACCA, DEC etc.).
10 plus years work experience, 7-8 years’ experience in financial planning & analysis gained within an international organisation in the Life-Science / Health care industry.
Exposure to manufacturing practices and cost accounting
Advanced understanding and experience with A/P, payroll and general accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of tools, including advanced Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the management
Strong organizational skills and ability to self-manage to meet expectations.
Experience with multi-company organization
Experience with multiple currencies

Critical thinker able to implement scalable processes.
