As the Head of Commercial Pricing you will define, implement and oversee pricing strategies that will directly impact the >35 million Zalando shoppers across our 17 markets as well as categories on the platform.
You will be responsible for the seamless price steering of the business, taking investment decisions worth +1Bn EUR. Taking full ownership of the processual/ operational excellence and the implementation of global pricing projects and initiatives, you will foster a data-driven mindset, closely collaborating with our Analytics and Tech teams.
You will lead, grow and mentor a team of around 20 Pricing Managers, shaping the vision and roadmap of the team. Working closely with senior leaders across the organization, you will take decisions for the benefit of our diverse customers, impacting the bottom line of our company, and of course the countless internal teams working with the commercial pricing teams.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
Define and implement overarching pricing strategies that allow us to win locally, taking customer preferences and competitive positioning into account
Use analytics, evidence and learnings to make day-to-day pricing decisions, considering trade-offs vs. multiple objectives
Implement sales events (such as Black Friday) in line with our platform strategy and engage with millions of Zalando customers driving customer life-time value upwards
Drive company wide pricing projects contributing to our group strategy generating top and bottom line impact of multiple million EUR
Implement efficient operational processes leveraging our technology to steer the business using pricing and promotions as a lever (e.g. commercial planning, forecasting, price materialization)
Expand organizational awareness and knowledge of pricing as a demand driver through effective collaboration and leadership
Lead, mentor and empower your team of pricing leaders and managers
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Leader in a technical environment with 8+ years of commercial/strategic experience, preferably within consultancy or pricing (as well as similar areas of domain expertise)
Excellent business acumen skills ideally gained in an ecommerce environment with strong knowledge about the relevant KPIs and their financial implications
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform data/insights into strategies putting the customer to the spotlight of our actions
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to draft compelling strategies (in close alignment with multiple and diverse stakeholders)
Dynamic leader & strong team player (+5 years of leadership experience) combined with strong problem solving skills in a highly dynamic and complex environment
Strong quantitative educational background demonstrated by a degree in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Business Administration (Quantitative field) etc. Further education in these fields or an MBA will be highly valued
