Why do we need you?

Last year, we proved that our learning solution works well across borders: a double-digit percentage of our sales came from outside of Holland, while not having actively sold outside of the The Netherlands yet. One of the growth drivers for 2020 is doubling down on International Sales. As Berlin is home to a host of top-tier scale-ups and corporate head-quarters, and all of our training content is already available in German, Berlin is the logical next step for our expansion.

As you are our first permanent boots on the ground outside of our Amsterdam HQ, you have the willingness and ability to both build a strong local culture, team, go-to-market approach, as well as work (remotely) hand-in-glove with the teams in Amsterdam, notably the Head of Commercial and one of the founders. Yet it’s also a great opportunity - a successful Head of Sales is one pole position for a General Manager of German or DACH-role in the near future, based on commercial (over)performance and leadership skills.

Specifically, what we would expect you to have delivered over the next 6-12 months?

  • Signed & onboarded 10+ “A-level” scale-ups or corporates based in or around Berlin, with a booked revenue in the 1M EUR range;
  • A 1M+ EUR strong pipeline for further acceleration;
  • A strong team, with proven track record in Business Development & Client Success Management, that has relevant networks in the German HR scene;
  • Validated go to market strategy with a clear plan for the next 12-24 months;
  • Lepaya as a name that starts to get mentioned in the relevant HR/L&D networks and meet-ups;

In an ideal world, who would you be?

  • You have experience in a full cycle sales role, ranging from creating lead gen to closing multiple complex deals over time, based on business KPI’s in a HR-facing scale-up or corporate in Berlin;
  • You have entrepreneurial experience in being “first boots on the ground”, and drive culture & growth;
  • You have a natural drive to support your ambitions with numbers and data, are able to quickly test new ideas, and pivot where necessary;
  • You can be a sparring partner for our senior client counterparts: HR Directors & L&D Directors;
  • You have a proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment;
  • You are fluent in German & English;

We value capabilities over formal experience, yet what would we love to see on your resume?

  • 7+ years work experience, of which 3+ in Sales, Business Development or Lead Generation;
  • Affinity with learning, training or HR;
  • Fluent in German and English;
