More about the role

Talent and people operations is a key and evolving part of RateSetter's operations team. Our business starts and end with people and you will, in many ways, hold the keys to enabling their success as the sole People Operations hire for RateSetter. Over the past year, some good groundwork has been laid by our outgoing Head of Talent, who is returning to the UK. However, this is just the start of a very exciting evolution of our People Operations as we transition through different stages of scaling, to profitability and beyond. There is plenty more to do and a great opportunity for you to have a huge impact on our business.

In order to achieve these goals, we are looking for an excellent all-round recruitment leader to ensure we're hiring, on-boarding and enabling the best talent in Australia to help every Australian achieve more.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Be the central managing point of all recruitment activities for RateSetter, overseeing everything from scoping job requirements, writing job descriptions, reviewing in-bound applications, screening candidates and managing candidates quickly through an interview process.
  • Manage our internal recruitment and HR platforms such as Workable, FlareHR and Vsource
  • Develop short and long-term engagement strategies for passive candidates
  • Work closely with our team leaders to create new roles, ensuring that each role is vital to the success of our business and be creative with long-term, sustainable solutions to problems. Understanding that hiring is not always the best step to solve certain challenges.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications team to develop a compelling narrative for new (and existing) employees
  • Manage on-boarding and off-boarding of employees
  • Be an advocate for the RateSetter culture
  • Be an adviser to the leadership team on the culture and performance of their teams
  • Manage basic internal HR processes e.g. oversight of performance reviews and social events
  • Be comfortable working completely autonomously

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either stepping out of agency recruitment or is already an established in-house recruitment leader. Whatever your experience, it is essential that you are able to thrive in ambiguity and constantly create and exceed your own targets.

To be great in this role you will have:

  • A very good track record of placing a diversity of roles either in-house or in an agency
  • A consultative mind-set, with a track record of solving business problems with talent and HR
  • The ability to work autonomously, think on your feet and work in an evolving work environment dealing with complex inquiries
  • An ability to prioiritise high-impact work and move quickly
  • An analytical mind-set and approach to decision-making
  • A keen interest in HR is ideal but no prior experience is necessarily required
