About the role
As Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures continues to grow and create new ways to shape lasting memories for our guests and we are currently seeking Host/Hostess to work on our pontoon. You will work a shift based roster and fly to work on a seaplane once a fortnight with up to 14 days on 3 days off, for the duration of the season.
Key responsibilities include:
Interacting with guests around meal service, providing information on the day’s events
Perform guest service functions in the dining area which including cooking of meals on a BBQ and finishing pre-prepared salads and accompaniments plus buffet presentation
Clearing tables and service areas, washing dishes from service
Participating in safety briefing for guests
Assisting with aircraft water landing, general marine duties tying off aircraft or tenders
Cleaning of dining and public areas on Pontoon. High level of attention to detail and cleanliness standards
Cleaning guest rooms and bathroom facilities including washing and folding linen from rooms
Keeping crew quarters clean and tidy
Assisting with retail sales and cashiering transactions
Putting away stores and caring for food stores
To be successful in this role you need to have:
Be self-motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service
High level of guest service and also willing to go above an beyond
Outstanding grooming standards, with personable and professional communication skills
Knowledge or hands on experience in marine operation, such as assisting deckhands with tasks, marine safety knowledge, tying ropes is an advantage
Cooking skills or interest in food and cooking is highly regarded
Ability to cook for crew of 12 is desirable but not essential
Good all rounder hospitality skills
Be prepared to shared bunk room accommodation whilst living on Pontoon
Have break from Social media- as there is no reception for phone or internet on Pontoon
