What is this role?
We are a UK headquartered fast-paced international Company, looking for an HR Business Partner for our German operations. You will work closely with the local management team, as well as functional leaders based outside of Germany, to support the business needs of the Company. In addition you will be part of a Global HR team working on various projects such as diversity and inclusion and helping employees adapt to a remote and digital workplace. We have approximately 200 employees in Germany, with offices in Stuttgart, Munich and Leipzig, but due to the current pandemic, the majority continue to work from home, although the ability to travel to these locations from time to time, could be desirable in the future.
HR at SDL
There is a constant flow of new challenges facing businesses today. More than ever, companies know that successfully navigating these challenges demands a high performing workforce – highly skilled, engaged, and motivated employees contributing their best to the organization. HR aims to attract the best talent and inspire, engage and enable everyone at SDL to be their best.
We are looking for a hands-on HR Generalist with specific and recent experience of German Employment Law to own operational HR for German employees, working with managers, employees and three German works councils. This role is part of a wider EMEA and Global HR team, and this role reports to the Senior Director, Human Resources (based in the UK). The role can be located anywhere in Germany as the majority of our employees continue to work from home due to the pandemic. This role has two direct reports – an Associate HR Business Partner for Germany and an Office Manager based in Stuttgart. Together with an HR Consultant who is a Works Council strategist, this role is also responsible for owning the relationship with the three works councils, helping resolve issues they raise in a timely manner, and building up trust with them to be able to secure their approvals on any new processes that the Company wishes to implement. This requires building up relationships with various business functions outside of Germany, such as IT and Finance, to be able to find out information to be able to share with the works councils.
