Job Description


WHAT YOU'LL DO The HR Manager - BST is responsible for directing a variety of strategic and operational HR programs for the Business Services Team (“BST”), to ensure the firm's current and future human resources requirements are met and that employees are recruited, managed, trained, evaluated and rewarded in accordance with the firm's people strategy. 
  YOU'RE GOOD AT HR strategy and engagement:
  • Develop and implement  the people strategy for the Business Services team  including driving any change initiatives and  communication plan to build engagement around the strategic agenda
  • Develop and implement BST related policies, strategies and change programs to improve employee engagement nationally and by office
  • Support the BST Executive on the annual program of analysis, communication and engagement around employee satisfaction results.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead BST management meetings
  • Provide HR metrics to the leadership team to support decisions. This may include attrition, learning and development feedback scores, performance appraisal scores, and exit interview analysis.
  • Participate in and contribute to regional HR meetings and global projects as required
  • Act as partner and coach to BST Managers on all people related issues
  • Performance standard: BST People Strategy and policies delivered and consistent with current practices and legislation

  • ER & policy
    • Provide expert HR technical advice to the functional line managers as well as global teams with local staff including performance management, employee grievance matters, termination and employment law matters.
    • Performance standard: High performance scores in partnership metrics.

    Reward & Recognition
    • Managing the annual salary benchmarking process, including analysing data, educating staff and line managers, and managing the communication process.
    • Regularly review the benefits package in collaboration with the Finance team to ensure we are competitive in the local market
    • Manage employee reward and recognition programs
    • Performance standard: Benchmarking process completed, achievement of survey result targets in employee satisfaction regarding reward, recognition and benefits

  • Driving the annual performance management process
  • Manage the annual  discretionary performance bonus process including delivery of training  around the process
  • Continuously improve manager capability in performance management through  training and 1:1 coaching of line managers
  • Performance standard: 90%+ compliance in process, improving scores in management capability

  • Professional Development
    • Set and manage the professional development program which meets the diverse needs of the functions, including setting, managing and monitoring the local training budget
    • Performance standard: Budget management within +/- 5%; satisfaction scores of 80%+ 

    Talent Acquisition
    • Accountable for Talent Acquisition, managing the Talent Acquisition Specialist to attract high quality candidates to BST
    • Oversee high quality and customised inductions for all new employees.
    • Performance standard: Budget management within +/- 5%; targets met in time and performance metrics of new starters
  • Set and manage the professional development program which meets the diverse needs of the functions, including setting, managing and monitoring the local training budget
  • Performance standard: Budget management within +/- 5%; satisfaction scores of 80%+

  • YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS) Qualifications
  •  Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources

  • Experience
    • Demonstrated prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced professional services environment.
    • Prior experience managing and leading one or more team members.
    • A proven ability to operate at both a strategic and operational ('hands on') level
    • Strong organisational and process management skills combined with an ability to multi-task and prioritise in a demanding environment
    • Ability to perform numerical analysis and translate into report form
  • Demonstrated prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced professional services environment.
