Reporting position

Reporting to Site Leader with working relationship to Head of Human Resources.


Purpose of Role

Working with extended leadership group with responsibility for organisational HSE performance and functional responsibility.


Job Requirements

Maintain a positive HSE team atmosphere at all times by empowering the team and managing

performance for maximum efficiency.

  Responsibility for all Health and wellbeing programs to include Resilience, Health promotion

and direct support to HR function.

Clearly define specific HSE objectives, targets and training with all Team Members so as to

realise zero  LTI’s, IWLT’s & PSI’s

Responsible for the design and implementation of the site HSE programme of environmental

and safety related activities.

Responsible for the Safety and Environmental Management to ensure that the Internal Audit

System is in place and achievement of auditing targets of zero non- conformances are

maintained.

Responsible for ensuring that HSE training requirements are assessed against

legislation/corporate requirements and that programmes are in place to deliver required

training.

Responsible for ensuring that HSE support is provided to all departments to ensure they

complete their required assessments. Ensuring that appropriate controls for hazards are

identified as part of the risk control program and to ensure elimination of such Risks and

hazards.

Responsible for identification of significant Environmental Aspects & Impacts and

implementation of appropriate controls.

Responsible for monitoring and governing legal compliance to all HSE regulations, site licenses

and Sanofi Standards.

Has overall responsibility for management of the crisis and emergency management system’s

upkeep and improvements.

Responsibility for all Security & Waste Management activities including day to day

management and improvements.

Is available for out of hour’s site response 24/7 to issues as they arise.

    Qualifications

     

    Degree in Engineering or Science

    Diploma in H&S 


    Experience

    5 – 7 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment – ideally part of which would be in

    the pharmaceutical sector

    2 - 3 years’ experience in management of a site wide EHS programme

    Project management experience  


    Skills & Knowledge

    Operational experience of a fast moving manufacturing environment

    Detailed knowledge of EHS management systems

    Effective technical knowledge of pharmaceutical plants

    Full understanding of Health & Safety and legal requirements for a manufacturing operation

    and for capital projects  installations

    Full understanding of relevant waste regulations

    Able to manage projects to plan/budget

    Effective facilitator

    Good communication skills at organisation, team and individual levels

    Understands KPI’s for the site

    Responsible for Security Activities including day to day management and improvement
