Malaysia HR partner (primary):
Advises business leaders across Malaysia in the successful implementation, management and administration of various Human Resources (HR) programs, practices and procedures.  Utilizes a strong understanding of business/geographic needs to advise company leadership in HR policy and program matters.  Recommends appropriate courses of action in support of the company’s strategic direction. Leads the integration of complex business factors to build business/talent capability, develop leaders and succession plans and drive business change efforts.  Oversees the administration of HR programs designed to establish and maintain effective colleague relations through the uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures.  Ensures compliance with internal corporate policy, as well as external local government regulations and statutory requirements.

Secondary role: APAC Employee Relations & Risk point of contact
Acts as central APAC coordination point for all areas of employee relations, risk and compliance processes. Engage with team of global contacts in this area and partner with other APAC HR partners to ensure understanding, process compliance, and risk mitigation.
 
      Job Responsibilities

  • Partners with business leaders to build upon and embed global HR programs and address specific talent needs to achieve desired business results.
  • Consults with business leaders on talent, leadership, business strategy, organization development, rewards and culture.
  • Partners with business leaders to identify HR implications (organizational design, colleague selection and development, colleague relations, compensation, talent management, performance management, diversity initiatives, etc.) relative to business strategies.
  • Responsible for leading assigned HR team(s) in delivering high-quality HR programs at a business unit, country or regional level.
  • Participates in the development of company-wide projects, including understanding their implications to the business and on colleagues.
  • Partners and supports global HR team in resolving local issues and implementing global HR strategies and programs.
  • Ensures the HR programs developed, implemented and administered align and support the business unit’s strategies and operational objectives.
  • Develops and generates HR metrics and reports and recommends strategies to drive productivity and improvements.
  • Works systematically to diagnose problems, analyze data, identify root cause and recommend solutions for HR-related business issues.
  • Remains current with industry best practices to identify opportunities for improving HR’s support of business operations.
  • Ensures effective communication and deployment of HR programs to result in greater acceptance of programs by the organization.
  • Assists the HR organization at the local level during the annual performance management, salary planning and benefits enrollment processes (and all other annual HR programs).
  • Analyzes business challenges, current HR programs and external market best practices/trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Understands applicable local governmental regulations and advocates compliance requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the practices and principles within HR area of specialization and has the ability to apply this knowledge and expertise to business issues, operational strategies and results
  • Ability to establish interpersonal relationships with all levels in a multicultural environment
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • At least 8 years’ relevant experience
  • Previous team or project lead experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel including overnight domestic or international trips may be required
