We are looking for

A talented and passionate Site Reliability engineering/tech operations intern to work on state-of-the-art service infrastructure for large cloud-based service deployment and management.

You aim at being a systems administrator or technical operations with a love of high-performance, resilient, distributed systems running in virtualized data centres. This is not a pure programming role

You will be part of a dynamic global Site Reliability Engineering team. You learn hands-on what it means to run and support large-scale commercial applications in the cloud. You will collaborate with colleagues who value your innovative ideas, thoughtfulness and curious mind.

This role will be for 3 months initially. Please write a brief cover letter stating your related interest & experience along, what type of work permit you have in place e.g. spousal 1G, Graduate 1G, Stamp 4, No visa required etc. Please state visa status clearly on CV.

Ideally this would someone in their final year in computer science with an interest in DevOps/Technical operations.

About the Role:

In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with the Engineering and TechOps teams to deploy and operate the infrastructure required to operate our Business systems. You should have a passion for problem solving, automation and optimization. You will also help automate and streamline our operations and processes; build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations; and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Part of a team responsible for administration of Linux servers running at AWS and Azure; Includes: installation, performance tuning, day-to-day system resource management and monitoring.

  • Automates installation and configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent product.

  • Work closely with developers, testers and engineers to unify operational efforts

  • Ensures the high availability, security, and performance of the production and development environments for our customer facing applications.

  • Develop and maintain monitoring tools

  • Participate in technical troubleshooting sessions


  • Preferred Major and/or Field of Study:

    • Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or MBA

  • Required Technical/Non-Technical Skills:

    • Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or

    • Experience installing and working with Linux.

    • Software development skills utilizing Java, Ruby, Python, Scala, or Javascript, as well as other JVM based languages

    • Experience with AWS, Azure or VMWare

    • Understanding of DevOps, software development life Cycle (SDLC), system administration, Puppet/Chef/Ansible/SaltStack, and Platform as a Service architecture

    • Experience with Databases and SQL query writing

    • Basic understanding of computer networking

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Strong passion for technology, security, and doing the right thing

    • Be able to work effectively in globally distributed team structure
