Job Overview:

Responsible for developing and maintaining existing relationships, as well as identifying and acquiring new business with their assigned territory to meet sales goals.



Internal Sales Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for raising and retaining assets within a geographic territory by making proactive phone calls to brokers and financial advisors to provide product information, share sales ideas, gather marketing data and offer sales support.
  • Incorporate sales methodology / interviewing skills to learn about representatives’ business and needs to suggest sales and marketing ideas.
  • Handle incoming phone calls and requests for information, sales and marketing material, product analysis and problem resolution in a professional and timely manner
  • Endorse the firm and national account initiatives and focus to meet goals through call campaigns, email campaigns and communication.
  • Perform competitive analysis within product line-ups and maintain knowledge of the mutual fund industry.
  • Create and tailor sales ideas and presentations based on advisor profile and needs.
  • Read and report on assigned industry journals.
  • Deliver product and value add presentations.

External Wholesaler Partnership:

  • Maintain open communication with the wholesaler, which includes a daily review of the sales, opportunities, and summarizing activities that impact the territory.
  • Provide support to wholesaler in preparation for meetings including mailing necessary literature.
  • Schedule wholesaler appointments with financial advisors as appropriate.
  • Maintain contact relationship management system (Siebel).
  • Develop and implement a business plan and sales strategy with the external wholesaler.
  • Responsible for tracking and managing costs of promotional items charged to assigned wholesaler.



Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 required (must obtain FINRA Series 7 within first 90 days)
  • Solid knowledge of mutual funds and the investment markets
  • Successful sales and/or sales support experience
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging and collaborative sales environment
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel periodically
