As a Business Development Account Manager, you will be responsible for winning new logos within Canada by calling into prospective customers on a daily basis to introduce SHI’s unique value proposition. The BDM will also be responsible for developing new business with companies within their assigned Customer List that the BDM directly manages. The role of the BDM will be two-fold: representing our core value of providing world-class customer support and achieving monthly KPIs, all part of being a new business proactive sales professional.

  • In addition to the BDM role, you will also directly manage a small subset of accounts.

    • Focus on acquiring new business
    • Prospecting within existing customers to expand relationship within
    • Participation in Sales initiatives and campaigns as extension to Sales Team
    • Coordinate sales efforts and activities with Sales Teams within dedicated territory
    • Call customers to learn their IT needs and align with SHI capabilities and services
    • Identify and leverage resources to advance a sales cycle
    • Lead follow up from partner events and trade shows
    • Consistently achieve or exceed activity goals
    • Gain industry knowledge through regularly scheduled trainings

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2+ years successful IT sales experience
  • Demonstrate ability to excel in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment
  • Experience continually meeting or exceeding sales targets by selling company products, solutions, and services to new and existing customers
  • Previous sales or business development experience
  • Proficient in sales tools, (CRM, BI, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word and Excel)
  • Understanding of SHI Solution offerings
  • IT savvy

  • Effective written, verbal, listening, and presentation communication abilities
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Possess good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of a customer and/or partner organization for the purposes of building relationships and driving sales growth
  • Ability to effectively position against competition, and clearly articulate value
  • Ability to self-study and engage in independent work to increase job related knowledge and skills
  • Ability to think ahead, plan long-term decisions, and anticipate outcomes
  • Ability to be approachable, maintain composure, and possess a professional attitude
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with limited direction and oversight
  • Ability to prospect, negotiate, and close deals
  • Excellent consultative sales skills
