Our Team
ION is looking for a smart and ambitious candidate to join our Tax Team as an International Tax Manager.

What are we trying to do?
The tax team is responsible for all aspects of ION Group’s tax function, from advising management of the tax implications of strategic business decisions to ensuring that compliance deadlines are met around the world. 
 
What do we need help with?
There is an opportunity for an individual to join our tax team to utilise their skills as a Tax Manager to supplement the experience and resources of the existing team. Currently, the Company is going through a period of significant expansion and as an Irish head-quartered group, there is a need for an experienced manager to join the team to lead our entity rationalisation project.
 
The successful candidate in the role will display strong attention to detail and organizational skills, strong stakeholder and project management skills, experience both in tax technical issues and their practical application, and the ability to work proactively and efficiently.
  
What you will do?
Reporting to the Global Tax Director, the Tax Manager will have the following responsibilities:
 
Lead an entity rationalisation project to achieve tax and administrative efficiency for the group. This will involve:
o   Working closely with local tax advisor firms internationally to design tax planning strategies and step-plans to achieve entity rationalisation across a number of jurisdictions.
o   Review, analyse and challenge the output from advisers to ensure the most efficient strategies are being pursued.
o   Summarise the final outcomes and strategies into internal documents for review by Senior Management.
o   Work closely with Senior Management across the business (e.g. legal, finance, company secretarial) to ensure the efficient implementation and execution of the step-plans.
o   Lead the building and implementation of tax processes which allow for efficient and robust entity rationalisation going forward.
o   Management of external vendors to ensure timely and value-add advice is received. 
 
The successful candidate will gain an excellent understanding of the group’s footprint globally together with detailed knowledge of the international entities as well as building relationships with senior management across various sectors of the group. In addition to the above responsibilities, it is therefore also envisaged that the successful candidate will bring this knowledge to support the tax team in various structuring, process improvement and compliance projects.
 
 
Education and expertise:
·       5+ years of tax experience.
·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Taxation or related course.
·       ACA/ACCA/CPA preferred.
·       AITI or equivalent is required.
·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
·       Strong data organisation skills.
·       Strong verbal and written communication skills.
·       Excellent demonstrated project management and stakeholder management skills.

This role is visible across the whole tax team and wider group, therefore needs someone who is confident in their communication and enjoys being driven by deadlines and challenges. You will need to be a strategic thinker with a long-term focus as this is a core part of our values and overall strategy.
