Job Description

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance
    • Coordinate closely with the hotel’s Chief Engineer and assist on specifications as required and agree on handling of maintenance and support of:
      • Telecommunications
      • In Room Entertainment System
      • Audio Video Systems
      • Building Maintenance/Control systems
      • Keylock and Keycard System
    • Ensure that systems have no errors, no response time issues, minimum of downtime, and performs according to documented specifications.
    • Ensures that operating system, hotel and office applications are updated with the latest release or patch as advised by Group IT&T.
    • Manage on-going maintenance of systems and ensure that appropriate service contracts if deemed necessary are in place.
    • Maintain a record of maintenance contracts and constantly monitors the preventative maintenance program executed by the contractors.
    • Review maintenance contracts with the Financial Controller, General Manager and, if required, the regional Vice President of Technology at least three months prior to the expiry.
  2. Support
    • Coordinate closely with the hotel’s Chief Engineer and agree on handling of support issues for:
      • Telecommunications
      • In Room Entertainment System
      • Audio Video Systems
      • Building Maintenance/Control systems
      • Keylock and Keycard System
    • Maintains and manages list of support issues and coordinates with the software vendor or service provider for an immediate resolution.
    • Ensure that a structured escalation procedure is published to provide 24 hour support to the hotel guest and staff.
    • Identifies and trains with the concurrence of the department head, appropriate shift personnel to solve minor technology related problems.
    • The ITTM or designated alternative will be available on call basis 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
    • Ensure that issues deemed critical are promptly advised to the regional Vice President of Technology.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience within hospitality industry.
  • Solid management experience in the following systems: information management, computer networks, telephone, voice, video, data telecommunications, internet, intranet and information system support.
  • Experience with strategic planning for business continuity.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
