The Royal Adelaide Hospital

The Royal Adelaide Hospital is the largest, busiest and most technologically advanced hospital in Australia with 800 single in-patient rooms, including 100 same-day beds and 80,000 same-day and overnight patient admissions per year. Spotless is the facility manager, managing services within the hospital building.

The Role

As part of the ICT Delivery team the role of the IT Project Manager is to ensure the successful delivery of ICT Projects ensuring the enablement of Spotless Service Lines supporting the operation of the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

To be successful within this role you must have the demonstrated ability to not only build and strengthen relations within our project team but to also collaborate with our clients and third party suppliers. You must be able to communicate the vision, mission, objectives and key success factors successfully.

You will be responsible for full management of end-to-end project activities including; but not limited to.

  • Structuring the project schedule/plan (working with a Solution Lead/Business Analyst) to construct the work breakdown structure
  • Creating project budgets as part of the Project Initiation Document (PID) and managing the budget and contingency to ensure accuracy throughout the project lifecycle
  • Providing Weekly Project Status Reports and presents to project sponsor and any appropriate project governance structure where required
  • renewal and upgrade schedule for company software programs and infrastructure
  • Creating and managing the Move To Production (MTP) plan for all projects including all communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Representing  the project at the appropriate governance forums

Skill required

  • Demonstrated experience in leading multifaceted projects in a complex environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
  • Sound knowledge and proven experience in project management, including formal Project Management accreditation (Prince 2 or similar) and demonstrated application in an operations environment.
  • Strong IT background, including an understanding of technical IT concepts – IT Infrastructure, system integration, databases etc.
  • Health industry experience and familiarity with clinical terminology, data and systems would be well regarded.
