About the Position

Centacare's IT and Infrastructure Unit provides support for Centacare services in communications, information technology, building leasing, maintenance and environmentally conscious work practices. The unit also provides these services to a number of independent entities.

The purpose of the Help Desk and IT Support Officer is to provide a help desk responsive service across a wide range of IT related enquiries. The key duties in this role will include:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support
  • Work collaboratively in a small team environment
  • Provide telephone, remote and onsite support to staff members
  • Monitor, action and update Helpdesk tickets and writing IT solutions
  • Train and assist staff in the effective use of software applications

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience of computer hardware, software applications and network peripherals, mobile devices, TCP/IP, networking, information systems security principals and common business software applications
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Server & Windows operating systems 
  • High standard of customer service, with strong verbal and written communication
  • Well organised and excellent task management skills
  • Ability to work well in a small team environment
  • Experience with Office 365
  • Experience in the use of Remote Monitoring and management software
  • Valid Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check. Checks can be initiated at https://screening.sa.gov.au/
  • Valid Driver's Licence 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Highly developed skills in Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Configuration/Support of Storagecraft Backup and Recovery software
  • Configuration/Support of VOIP/Skype for Business
  • Experience in the community services sector and/or not-for-profit sector
