GSP (Global Spread Products) technology is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join the Regulatory development team in Mississauga to support the GSP business. This role will require extensive development using Java, Microservices, Containerisation, OpenShift, Apache Flink, and Big Data technology. Candidate will be heavily involved with implementation of strategic Regulatory systems for Global Spread Products and broader group. The ideal candidate will be responsible and resourceful software professional who can comfortably work in a large development team in a globally distributed, dynamic work environment, teamwork and collaboration. The ability to work in high pressured environment is essential. 

Job Background/context:

The Global Spread Products business is a market maker for corporate loans, municipal and corporate debt, credit default swaps (CDS), mortgage backed securities (MBS) and structured products like tranches and CDOs. Other products covered by these desks for hedging risk may include treasuries, interest rate swaps, equities, and futures.


  • Cater to the requirements from both business as well as technology clients - offering timely solutions; developing, testing, and implementing these solutions
  • Supporting and enhancing the existing infrastructure across a variety of technologies (Java, .Net, Angular, RBDMS, SOA)
  • Support the application for critical business flows such as pre-trade control.
  • Participate in the rebuilding of the platform
  • Provide innovative implementations for technical data management and business data availability requirements
  • Balancing fast time to market (client delivery) with proper governance, compliance, and audit mandates

Development Value:

This role is highly visible and will provide exposure to Spread Products business. There will be regular interactions with business stakeholders, and global IT teams. The successful candidate will be involved in important projects in the scope of Spread Products Regulation horizon. As such he/she will have the opportunity to play a key role in the long term strategic roadmap.

Required Skills /Qualifications:  

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with globally distributed teams

Technical skills:

  • Solid 5-8 years of experience with Java development
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful service implementations.
  • Experience and familiarity building modern Spring applications with Spring Boot
  • Experience building Distributed / Service Oriented / Microservice-style and cloud based architectures (ECS, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
  • Hands on experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, Sonar Cube, BitBucket
  • Experience in software development SDLC (Agile)
  • Excellent knowledge of Multithreading, Thread-Pools with strong OOP and OOAD skills

  • Dependent Technology teams (Trade, Risk and Shared Services)


  • Prior Investment Banking Regulation system experience is highly desirable
  • Exposure with Apache Flink will be big plus

Educational/Certification Background:

  • Graduate/post graduate with computer degree/math.
  • Requires good communication, presentation and written skills.
