The Laboratory Automation Engineer is responsible for programming instruments and integrating automation solutions, including software solutions, in a regulated (GxP) environment.
Lead the design and installation of automation solutions in a regulated bioanalytical laboratory
Responsible for assessing operational needs for improving laboratory processes including but not limited to: automated work and data flow (automation) and new analytical platforms
Supporting the development and testing of new devices, software, components, and procedures
Collaborates with Operations, Information Technology (IT) and Quality Assurance (QA) team members to support regulated (GxP) validation and implementation of automation and data management processes
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for automated laboratory systems in a GxP environment
Develop and implement standard training materials and manuals for all automation processes
Authors Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, biotechnology, or related field with broad experience in regulated bioanalysis
Not less than five years' experience in an automated laboratory environment
Skilled in implementation and optimization of automated laboratory processes and data management systems
Experienced in Watson LIMS and further validated data management systems
In-depth understanding of GLP, GCP / GCLP and/or GMP procedures.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Watson LIMS, and automated liquid dispensing software.
Capability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
Detail oriented and highly organized
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and functional groups
Fluency in English is required, fluency in German is desired.
