Role Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance activities at the Power Station, including the identification of all maintenance requirements and their integration into a long term plan.
The Maintenance Manager is the site contact for the preparation and execution of all work carried out during planned and unplanned outages of major equipment

Essential Responsibilities:

• Support the Power Station Manager to meet the contractual, technical and commercial targets of the Power Station.
• Ensure proper and effective maintenance of the Power Station, considering O&M Contract, commercial aspects and in accordance with safety, environmental and legal regulations.
• Manage the maintenance of the Power Station so that all requirements are identified, documented, planned, scheduled and carried out correctly, and that a history of details of work carried out is available in the maintenance management system.
• Ensure that identification of maintenance requirements has considered the need to achieve the required plant availability, reliability and performance at the lowest cost.
• Ensure standard practices and reporting requirements of the O&M COE are followed, and maintenance processes comply with relevant GE O&M procedures (PSQMS).
• Adapt PSQMS documents to reflect the maintenance requirements, and consider and actively develop improvement potentials for all maintenance processes.
• Maintain a high safety conscious working environment and ensure compliance with all company and legislative Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
• Recruit, train, develop and guide staff, and periodically assess their ability and potential.
• Work with other members of the team to maintain good relations with the Customer and other parties.
• Manage Power Station maintenance costs, prepare, agree and then control the Maintenance Department budget.
• Liaise with all parties to ensure that planned outages of equipment are supported at the Power Station with the correct tools, equipment, resources and procedures, and that all work is integrated into a single outage plan that is then managed by the jobholder.
• Maintain a system of control for relevant stock.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering BSc degree.
• At least seven years experience in maintenance of Power Stations or large continuous process plants, of which some years may be in commissioning.
• At least two years experience in line management.
• Experience in maintenance of relevant Power Stations.

Desired Characteristics:

• Substantial knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in maintenance of relevant Power Stations.
• Good leadership skills proven in a multicultural environment.
• Knowledge of typical legislation associated with Power Station maintenance.
• The ability to speak the local language and communicate effectively in English.
• A good understanding of maintenance management concepts and practices.
• Knowledge of risk management techniques.
• Some knowledge of commercial processes and budgeting experience.
