About You

An excellent opportunity exists for a hands on Maintenance Officer / Handyperson to join our successful and motivated team in our Centennial Lodge residential aged care home in Wantirna South.

You will use your all-round handyperson skills and eye for detail to maintain all facets of our residential aged care facility. You will be required to coordinate the day to day implementation of maintenance works including liaising with external tradesmen and contractors.

A trade qualification or background is preferred but not essential, however all round handyperson skills are required.

Key Requirements

  • Previous hands-on experience in repairs and maintenance
  • Proven ability to manage and complete jobs in a set period with limited supervision
  • Can do attitude and polite supportive work ethic
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Be competent in the use of basic hand and power tools
  • Have basic safety knowledge related to the transportation of tools, materials, and work pieces in and around work areas
  • Have a clear understanding of safe Work Health & Safety practices
  • Provide fast and efficient service for maintenance requests
  • Experience working within a Residential Aged Care environment is highly advantageous but not essential
  • A National Police Clearance is required.

  • Salary Packaging - as a Not-for-Profit organisation we provide the ability for our staff to salary package up to $16,173 per annum of your salary (inclusive of salary packaging and the administration fee) which significantly increases the take home value of your remuneration package. Additionally, you can salary package meals, entertainment and facility hire expenses including holiday accommodation up to a maximum of $2,550 per annum.
