We are actively seeking expressions of interest for Full-time Maintenance Officers to join our property team at St Basils.

About the role

Working closely with our Residential and Community General Managers, the role is responsible for ensuring that our facilities are provided with timely, expert and customer focused maintenance services. This includes effectively fulfilling record keeping and administrative procedures using our asset management software.

We are seeking candidates who operate safely, effectively, and efficiently in maintaining buildings, equipment, and furnishings to a high standard, as well as having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of our consumers. We are looking for someone that rolls-up their sleeves to get the job done, takes pride in their work and importantly, can relate and communicate respectfully with our consumers. Our property team can provide you with onsite training and skills development. Our team work hard but we also have fun at the same time.

What the essential requirements of the role are:

  • Great attitude, skilled, flexible and works well with elderly people
  • Computer skills or a willingness to learn Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable Criteria

  • 3 - 5  years relevant experience in repairs and maintenance
  • Understanding of and commitment to WHS requirements
  • Ability to manage and complete work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player, collaborative, respectful and is willing to chip-in
  • Excellent customer service focus
  • Ability to use Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) highly desirable
  • A trade qualification is preferable but not essential.


Employment with St Basil’s Homes is subject to satisfactory background checks which include a National Police Check, Reference Check, and pre-employment medical check. 

Applicants will need to provide an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register confirming that the applicant has received three doses of the COVID-19 Vaccination and Influenza Vaccination.
