Job Description

The margin analyst will act as the liaison between W.B. Mason’s corporate office and branch locations for strategies and information relating to office supply gross margin. Activities include daily interaction with branch management team and communication between business stakeholders & IT developer. Other activities include reporting, data analysis & presentation of sales and profits. The position will require communication across departments (Sales, IT, Marketing, Customer Service, etc.) to successfully solve problems and implement solutions.

The candidate must be able to work in both our Woburn and Boston Offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data analysis of customer performance and identification of key performance indicators & trends.
  • Develop conclusions and implications for all analysis.
  • Work with Branch & Corporate Management to develop action plans for assigned locations.
  • Contribute to the design of new systems/workflow tools.
  • Perform quality assurance.
  • Execute and manage various reporting tasks.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multi-level personnel
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, margin and mark up.
  • Relational database experience (MS Access, MS SQL)
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
