Oklahoma City is a unique site to Terex Corporation in North America, manufacturing for each of the business segments: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Cranes, and Terex Materials Processing. Its workforce of 560+ team members is anticipated to grow by more than 1,000 over the next few years. The 100+ acre facility has recently begun an extensive remodel to accommodate the business’ growth.

About this Position:

The Manager FP&A role directs and provides key financial support for management in manufacturing plant operations and ensures the provision of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant services. This position reports to the Head of Finance for the site.


Responsibilities:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the business to identify, analyze and drive the implementation of significant productivity and operational improvement activities across the site, including evaluating and monitoring cost reduction programs and initiatives.
  • Drive the on-going development of the financial accounting and management reporting systems to include:
    • Improving segment reporting, and the automation and standardization of management reports.
    • Ensuring the site has a comprehensive understanding of the operational and spending variances that are being generated by each business segment.
    • Providing support to the operational and plant management teams to develop clear and timely action plans to improve performance and effectively manage and minimize spend variances
  • Provide key financial oversight on physical inventory; safeguarding of assets, cycle count and physical count adjustments and excess & obsolescence reserve.
  • Actively participate in development of capital expenditure requests. Assist in the oversight of the acquisition, tagging and physical inventory of fixed assets. Perform spending analysis and periodic asset audits.
  • Actively support Finance and Global Business Services (Shared Services) for month-end close process, account reconciliations, manual journal entries, etc. Provide on-location assistance to GBS to resolve inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Provide key oversight and support to Cost Accounting and FP&A functions for the analysis of manufacturing cost, standard margin and gross margin variances.
  • Perform strong business analysis for plant management as well as providing Finance and Accounting perspective on business decisions.
  • Provide prompt financial results to local management related to overall financial performance, including operational variances, plant KPIs, and department spending. Ensure the data is accurate, timely and presented in a manner that drives optimal decision making.
  • Work cross functionally to develop metrics that deliver meaningful data for process measurement and identify indicators of future improvement opportunities. Drive a focus on plant efficiencies and collecting/analyzing key cost data and performance metrics.
  • Working with site leadership, develop benchmark data, ensuring a clear and comprehensive understanding of the data and implement best in class practices.
  • Lead the monthly actuals, forecast and annual budget processes. Coordinate with the management team to;
    • ensure they understand their actual spending and are actively managing any spend variances
    • develop robust monthly spend forecasts
    • develop annual departmental budgets, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the underlying business drivers.
  • Identify and implement change management activities, process improvement and system efficiencies in order to improve service quality.
  • Execute and comply with Terex policy and procedures, local statutory and legal requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation, assessment and evaluation requirements.
  • Primary interface with internal and external auditors.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Seven years of an extensive financial management background including in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Account (CMA) or equivalent professional qualification
  • Oracle ERP experience, gained through an ERP implementation
  • Advanced Excel user and experience of Hyperion, Prophix, Cognos or other business information tools is desirable
  • Adaptable, self-motivated and strong team player with excellent written communication skills and proficiency in documentation of processes and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to complement creative “out-of-the-box” thinking
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, relationship building skills and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively, cross functionally and at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. The ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-moving environment
