Position Purpose

Its primary responsibility is to drive the Index tracking, Voluntary Corporate Action processes to ensure a smooth operation for APAC markets and business.

The position is highly critical and need to ensure providing accurate and timely information to trading for them to be able to capture their positions and risk properly.

It is essential to cascade instructions from trading to relevant parties for voluntary corporate actions to be processed adequately.

Team coverage starts from 4:15 IST and end 16:30 IST. Team should have appropriate shift to ensure sufficient coverage.

Responsible to manage Corporate Action and Index Tracking team

Responsible to develop people in the organization and manage the team with strong leadership.

Position is fully accountable Corporate Action and Index Tracking team in APAC.

Key Responsibilities

Key Operational Responsibilities & Contributions

        Bring Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework

       Minimize operational failure, including but not exclusively the risk of fraud by helping to devise and by implementing sufficient regular controls

       Ensure appropriate escalation to management and/or permanent control (or compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified.

       Comply with internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements

       Comply with the BNPP standards of Code of Conduct

       Comply with the BNPP IT Security policies

       Anti ‐ Money Laundering / Financial Sanctions “AML/FS” ) related duties: Operations are an integral part of the control framework including for AML/FS topics. In that respect, in performing your role you are expected to ensure adherence to AML/FS ‐ related Group Policies and execution of associated operational controls, and to promptly escalate any resulting hit for analysis and decision.

Team requires heavy interactions with trading, trade support, custodians, settlement teams etc to ensure both index tracking and corporate action related information cascades properly in the organization and information will need to maintained and accurate manner.

Corporate actions follow up

·          Monitor information on corporate actions with different source of information: Custodian/ Bloomberg /Reuters/Stock exchange

·          Maintain corporate action information in internal systems and its impact in related booking systems accordingly 

·          Communicate to internal clients (MO, BO, FO, Client Service etc.) regarding the details of corporate actions and provide adjustment methods for derivative products.   

·          Follow up withholding tax on dividend and corporate event; manage withholding tax related operation

Index Tracking  

·          Monitor the announcement on index change/rebalance. Calculate simulation (basket to buy/sell) to track the index.

·          Update the index composition in Doris and calculate forward impact.

·          Analyze/follow-up the index reshuffles and methodology change, anticipate and search the information, communicate quickly the information to trading and calculate the impact   

CA & Dividend related Instructions

·          Manage instruction and settlement process for corporate events and dividends.

·          Perform dividends or corporate action related reconciliations between systems.  

SLAB CA & Dividend Management

·          Manage corporate actions and dividends processes for the Lending and Borrowing activity  

Other key area

1- Projects

·          Participate to local and global projects related to process improvements and / or systems migrations

·          Support traders for all issues related to the CAI areas and if not provide timely responses to internal clients  

·          Work closely with IT and shall be capable to articulate business requirements properly to IT

Competencies (Technical / Behavioral)

Technical Knowledge and Qualifications required

•            Bachelor or Master Degree on Economics, Mathematics or Finance

•            Reuters / Bloomberg / Swift

•            Strong knowledge on various Corporate Actions and its impacts in pricing

•            Microsoft and programming skills (VBA, Excel, Access)

•            Languages: English; fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese/French is a plus.

•            Analytical mindset: Aptitude to understand financial pricing is needed as to be able to calculate simulations, forward impact and communicate the results with traders.

•            Organized & good resistance to stress: This is a much faced paced dynamic environment with several tasks to be performed at once; therefore excellent time management, proper prioritization and good positive resistance to stress are compulsory.

•            Attention to detail: Ability to notice any abnormal processes as well as any unusual dividends or prices for instance when monitoring and reconciling the various market data.
