Join the momentum. We are seeking a Manager for our growing International Corporate Tax team. Providing the highest level of excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Tax team works with individuals and organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors providing comprehensive strategies that minimize risk, meet tax compliance and reporting requirements, drive efficiencies and maximize returns. Specifically, our International Corporate Tax team helps multinational businesses in Canada, the U.S. and other foreign jurisdictions address their cross-border needs and reduces tax exposure.
Serve the Canadian tax compliance needs of multi-national corporations, including managing complete tax return and tax provision engagements
Work closely with clients and members of the MNP team to provide tax advice to non-residents of Canada that are either carrying on business in Canada or planning to commence carrying on business in Canada
Provide tax advice to Canadian businesses expanding abroad, including acquisition structuring, financing transactions, corporate reorganizations and planning for repatriation
Solve client problems and introduce clients to new tax planning strategies
Mentor and develop junior staff to achieve their career goals
Actively participate in internal professional development events, such as preparing and facilitating technical learning and development issues
Promote the MNP brand and support the firm’s business development initiatives
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with an emphasis on Accounting or Finance
An Accounting designation and/or Law Degree
Completion of the In Depth Tax Course, or MTax degree
Minimum of 5 years of experience in public practice, with a minimum of 3 years of experience specializing in Corporate Tax
Strong technical knowledge of Canadian income tax, including experience in corporate tax return preparation and review, tax research and drafting memoranda
Experience with International Tax
Experience implementing advanced offshore tax planning strategies and will be innovative in your approach to solving international tax problems as well as experience with compliance
Experience working with a broad mix of clients
Comfort with tax research methods and databases
