The Manager of Non-Liner Programming and Planning is responsible for executing Sportsnet’s vision, setting daily priorities, developing long-term plans and ensuring sports fans have a best-in-class experience on Sportsnet’s owned-and-operated digital channels, including the Sportsnet App, Sportsnet.ca and Sportsnet Now. The successful candidate understands which sports stories matter and the urgency of breaking news. Based on real-time data, they will constantly be assessing and giving feedback on what content is performing well and respond accordingly. Please note: This position requires evening and weekend work. What You'll Be Doing...
Working with Sportsnet’s content teams, the Manager of Non-Liner Programming and Planning will ensure the stories that matter to sports fans are properly covered.
Set the daily plan and maintain a sharable calendar for long-term planning.
Lead the curation team, which is responsible for programming the Sportsnet App, Sportsnet.ca and Sportsnet Now to ensure our products reflect the content sports fans want and Sportsnet’s priorities.
Help lead the content plan creation process for tent-pole events, such as NHL Playoffs and Toronto Raptors season launch, in collaboration with the Director of Non-Liner programming and planning.
Ensure Sportsnet’s network priorities are represented across owned-and-operated digital channels.
Be aware of all the content being produced across Sportsnet’s platforms and curate it on Sportsnet’s digital channels for the optimal user experience.
Work with Sales to ensure all obligations are met and ad-loads are optimal.
Work with Original Content team on branded content
Collaborate with our product team to optimize the user experience.
Manage and troubleshoot SN NOW’s live and VOD content, this including building playlists managing blackouts.
What You Bring...
Deep knowledge and a passion for Sports.
Strong editorial judgment.
Leading a newly-formed team the successful candidate must have exceptional leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
Well organized and forward-thinking.
Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
Excellent time management skills in a deadline-driven environment.
Flexible schedule and may be required to work overtime, including some nights/weekends/holidays.
Responsible quality assurance and presentation, the successful candidate must possess excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
