Manager, Software Engineering - Work from home

Vericle India is an Indian-based company supporting Vericle Corporation, a US-based parent company. We are looking for a technically strong, energetic, highly collaborative, and passionate leader to manage our software engineering team. You will be in a position to help us achieve a singular audacious goal: building a next-generation EHR. We are a successful technology company that found our niche in the medical billing industry. Our company is highly motivated to rapidly develop a modern EHR built on the latest data architecture standards to integrate with our mature medical billing platform. You will manage and lead a team of exceptional designers and developers while keeping quality in mind. We work in a collaborative environment and we value transparent communication and feedback, code reviews, and making learning fun.

Responsibilities

1. Partner with Product Owner to align on objectives, priorities, trade offs, and risks
2. Collaborate with Technology leadership to define the software architecture
3. Drive the delivery of features by collaborating with clients, multidisciplinary teams, architects, product owners and engineers
4. Manage daily standups as the ScrumMaster for engineering teams, ensuring that teams have clear priorities and adequate resources
5. Assemble a product development team that cultivates Lean workflow principles
• Advocate for technical excellence and for helping the teams make good decisions
• Empower team members to self-organize and develop autonomy
• Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members
• Maintain high morale, motivate the delivery team to go above and beyond
• Maintain and foster Vericle’s culture by hiring only the most qualified individuals
6. Demonstrate continuous improvement in technical expertise, domain knowledge, and leadership skills

Required Skills

1. 3+ years’ experience with the U.S. healthcare domain
2. 3+ years’ experience leading software engineering teams with a demonstrated track record on technically demanding projects
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills
4. Ability to be nimble, proactive, comfortable working with minimal specifications
5. Experience working with and implementing software development best practices and methodologies, including Agile
6. Effective code reviews, testing, SCM, and CI
7. Experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing engineers
8. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
9. Familiarity with ONC and CMS regulatory programs desired.
10. Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Web services implementation and healthcare data in the cloud
• Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Database management

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• HL7 Certifications:
• CDA Specialist
• V2.x Chapter 2 Control Specialist
• V3 RIM Specialist
• FHIR R4 and STU3 Proficiency Exam
