ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions leads the development within door openings and products for access solutions in homes, business and institutions.

Asia Pacific division has achieved sales around CNY 7.6 billion (around USD 1.1 billion) in 2018. Having about 11,400 employees. 


The Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY ASEAN (Malaysia, Philippine, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau) will be fully responsible for both the strategic development of the region as well daily management. Currently sales volume is 100 M USD, and the objective is to reach 500-800 M USD in 5 years, around 247 employees in total.

The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Essential Duties:

The job holder will build up business strategy according to characters of different markets within ASEAN in order to drive the growth plans, develop sales channels, introduce new innovative products to the market and provide an excellent leadership to the ASEAN organization.

  • Lead the strategic direction in the region and achieve business growth  / P&L plans;

  • Increase market presence and develop sales channels;

  • Drive commercial intensity with a focus on cost, pricing and delivery;

  • Ensure effective process for timely launch of new innovative products;

  • Evaluate and recommend Merger and Acquisition opportunities to complement the growth vision for the Region;

  • To have high focus on talent management and ensure proper succession plan are in place for key positions across the region;

  • Liaise with the other Regional Leaders in APAC to facilitate best practice sharing, particularly in relation to commercial and product innovation.

Qualifications (Education and Experience):

  • Educated to at least degree level with at least 10-year experience of managing a full P&L in Manufacturing or Engineering Industries at a senior level; MBA education is an advantage;

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the business;

  • Lead by example and drive a culture of integrity and compliance across the region;

  • A true business leader, with the breadth of experience to understand the business levers necessary to drive the business forward;

  • A self-starter, entrepreneur, able to manage conflicting priorities and ambiguity;

  • An excellent negotiator, able to create long term relationships with key customers and suppliers;

  • Proven track record in developing talent;

  • Quick to grasp new concepts and ideas, a hands-on leader who will take the necessary, sometimes difficult, decisions needed to drive the business forward;

  • Willing to travel extensively within the region and outside of it.
