Our next market is the UK. We are seeking an exceptional Managing Director for the UK who is passionate about car insurance and is excited to promote safe & eco driving. As a Managing Director, you will build and lead high performing teams, establish strategic partnerships, interact with media and various industry and regulatory stakeholders while owning the end to end success of the UK business. For this position you need to have previous corporate management experience and a proven track record in the P&C Insurance industry. The role is guaranteed to be intense and fast paced. What you’ll do

  • Establish, lead and rapidly grow a disruptive insurtech business in UK that changes the way people buy car insurance and interact with their provider.
  • Design and execute strategies to develop, deliver and communicate a unique value proposition for customers, drive growth & customer acquisition, and achieve strong financial results.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, entrepreneurial and agile team and promote a results-driven, demanding, rewarding and fun culture.
  • Oversee all operational and business activities ensuring they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
  • Own the P&L and Cash Flow, keep track of financial ratios and prepare financial forecasts and reports.
  • Establish strategic partnerships that will speed up growth and customer acquisition.
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson and public champion for the business, being responsible for the maintenance and development of the company’s reputation and relationships with media regulators, governments, local communities, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with legal departments and partners making sure that the business keeps updated on the government and industry regulations.
  • Identify, analyse and resolve real or perceived problematic situations and provide solutions.
  • Regularly report progress and updates to the CEO, the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.

Desired Skills

  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience in the P&C insurance industry
  • Excellent knowledge of car insurance products
  • Passionate about building, launching and scaling insurance products and bringing it to millions of people
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organisational and leadership skills
  • Experience working with product managers, engineers, lawyers, regulators, sales and marketing teams.
  • Proficient with numbers and understand their financial and business implications
  • Proven experience in P&L and Cash Flow management
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
  • Ability to understand issues quickly and make effective decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to inspire, build confidence and trust
  • Familiarity with "OKRs" will be a strong asset
  • MBA or MSc degree in a relevant discipline
