Statkraft’s Market Access business in Europe and in France

Electricity from renewable energy sources in Europe is increasingly sold on the wholesale market through power purchase agreements (PPAs). We are market-leader in this business in Europe, with ca. 12 000 MW generation capacity from third parties under management. In France, our main product is currently market access for new renewable power plants under the “complément de rémunération” support scheme (“agrégation") and for older plants exiting the Feed-In Tariff. Our customers are companies developing, financing, owning and/or operating on- and offshore wind, PV, biomass as well as hydroelectric power plants. We take responsibility for forecasting, trading, balancing, remote control and billing for these installations. We are also developing new products and services for the French power market. We are a member of French renewable industry associations FEE, SER and OFATE and contribute actively to the French energy transition.

Your role:

• Lead project management and operational excellence for the French market access business
• Drive the implementation and improvement of systems and processes, from data connections to power plants to interfaces with forecasting and trading systems, invoicing, CRM system and customer portal
• Play a central, proactive role at the interface between customers, Statkraft operations and sales team in France and in Europe, third-party service providers and other market stakeholders
• Engage with customers on operational aspects, secure deal feasibility, oversee implementation, develop tools and documentation to increase customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
• Build further relationships with distribution and transmission system operators and work with operations teams to refine processes for power production data and capacity certificate management
• Support strategic initiatives as well as the assessment of new commercial and technical concepts and drive their implementation

Your profile:

• At least 2 years project management experience in the energy industry
• Proven ability to take ownership of implementation projects and drive them until completion
• Good understanding of the design and economics of power markets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, very structured way of working and high attention to detail
• High accountability, resilience, strong stakeholder management and risk analysis skills
• Creative and constructive team player with a commercial mind-set and a focus on customer needs
• University degree in a quantitative discipline, engineering, business or equivalent
• Fluent in French and in English
• Willingness to travel (Statkraft European offices, industry meetings, customer visits…)
