How will you make an impact? The Marketing Communications Specialist will develop a robust communications and events strategy to bolster the company’s brand, image and reputation through consistent messaging and use of innovative communication platforms and methodologies, including digital. This diverse role is responsible for delivering marketing communications and events (including virtual) to take the Thermo Fisher Scientific brand to the next level during an exciting period of business growth. This pivotal position will work with internal marketing teams, external agencies and colleagues across divisions, commercial business leaders, and regional and global stakeholders to elevate brand health metrics, brand awareness, customer experience and program engagement. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Digital Commerce, this role will suit a dynamic and driven professional with fantastic leadership skills who has a genuine interest in making a difference. You will have a great eye for detail with excellent writing, collaboration, and organization skills with a passion for making this new role your own. What will you do?
Identify innovative marketing and industry communications opportunities to grow Thermo Fisher’s brand, leadership and market presence
Deliver internal communications and messages through different communication channels and modalities such as but not limited to the company’s website, social media, newsletters, press releases, publications, online events, etc.
Develop and implement marketing communications campaigns and monitor success (KPIs).
Determine strategic communications campaigns that will help further organizational goals.
Contribute to the design, content, and maintenance of the company website and other company online platforms intended to facilitate company communication.
Lead creation of video and audio content to support the communications strategy.
Create internal communications and events protocols and processes.
Oversee the creation of communications materials to ensure that they are consistent with the company’s communication strategy, including white papers, website copy, and more.
Reach out to influencers, media and beyond to arrange story placement on an ANZ level.
Other assigned duties and responsibilities as needed.
How will you get here? The Marketing Communications Specialist will have experience in strategic communication as well as demonstrated success with event and branding campaigns with the following skills:
Five or more years’ experience in similar marketing and communications roles (B2B an advantage)
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or another related field
Experience building an organization’s reputation for thought leadership.
Coordinating annual calendar of key communications programs and events including industry and divisional events and related media opportunities including the Annual Commercial Conference
Experience with social media, websites, creating audio and visual content and other digital tools.
Capable of working as a team player as well as working autonomously.
Great multitasker capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
Superior communications skills, including experience writing and editing.
Proficiency in InDesign and outstanding skills in writing, editing and PowerPoint
Strong technical skills in digital and social marketing, EDMs, CRM (Salesforce), CMS, WordPress, SEO, SEM (desirable to have an understanding to work with internal SEO/SEM/Digital specialists)
Developing presentations, reports, and publications
