Work with us and you’ll soon become a key player on the team, working on some of the biggest brands and most high-profile sponsorships in the country. You’ll be working on client projects large and small, as well as playing a key role in designing and executing our internal marketing and comms. Our work spans print, social, digital, video, outdoor and almost everything in between. No two days are ever quite the same at Gemba!

Ideally, you’ll have a year of experience working on the tools, and you’ll be a team player who shows genuine initiative. You’ll have the ability to juggle a few projects at once, prioritise and deliver quality outcomes to tight deadlines. You’ll also have the answer to random questions fired at you, like ‘if you were a horror movie villain, who would you be?’ All this while remaining fully zen and evolving into a totally gun designer. Easy.

Desired skills, attitude and experience for the position include:

  • Bachelor of Communication Design and/or Certificate Diploma of Graphic Design
  • 1 year design/advertising/industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated design and finished art skills across print, digital, social and presentation formats
  • Proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Powerpoint/Google Slides
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to hit deadlines and present your designs and ideas internally
  • A proactive, solution-based approach in a fast-paced environment – balancing your time and energy across multiple projects
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to quality check your own work
  • The willingness to share knowledge and learn new techniques/skills
  • Bonus points if you know how to organise your working files, and you’re house proud about server structure

Based in Melbourne and reporting to a Senior Account Director, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of client projects, developing and managing engaging sponsorship campaigns, and effectively managing budgets, timelines and external vendors. What is the role?

Working closely with Gemba’s Marketing and Strategy teams, the Graduate Insights Analyst, will be responsible for project managing, implementing and reporting world-class research projects for Gemba clients, applying both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Examples of our high-profile projects include a multi-country research study to support the licensing strategy for FIFA and conducting game journey’s and Egroups to understand the New Zealand Rugby fan. You will also play a key role in managing the biggest Sport and Entertainment proprietary research program, which is active in over 20 markets around the world.

You will be required to deliver high quality client deliverables through efficient and effective practices. This includes supporting the development of research methodologies and questionnaires, extracting data from databases and proactively looking for potential insights and then preparing reports for clients in an impactful manner.

Who are we looking for?

This key role requires an Insights Graduate with 1-2 years of market research experience within a company (preferably consulting /agency side) with a focus on managing research projects on behalf of a range of clients. Quantitative research skills are a must with qualitative experience an added bonus. A good understanding of general business principles, with relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, marketing, statistics or market research is essential as is a passion to build a career in market research, focusing on Sport & Entertainment. Advanced PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills are required as is experience with Q software (and/or SPSS or similar software) and Questionnaire design.   • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
