Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join an expanding SME, family run business in Shrewsberry.

As Marketing Manager, you will have responsibility for developing the marketing strategy aligned to the overall business goals, to continue growth and to move the company to the next phase of their exciting journey.

Initially there will be a focus on brand positioning, market segmentation, overall strategy and costed marketing plans but as wholly responsible for marketing you will be executing all marketing functions including the day to day activity for the company's website, email campaigns, social media, print requirements, outbound telemarketing and all lead generation platforms.

As first in the door to the marketing function, this is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working driven person to manage and take responsibility for all marketing activities. The company relies entirely on new business (single project orders) and therefore inbound leads and pipeline management are critical.

Key responsibilities and duties...

  • Manage and take responsibility for all marketing activities
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive marketing plans
  • Monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds accordingly
  • Research and analyse market trends, demographics, pricing schedules, competitor products, and other relevant information to form marketing strategies
  • Identify new product opportunities through thorough market and competitor analysis
  • Create effective reporting systems that measure ROI and inform forecast of activities for the next quarter
  • Create and implement product and solution stories as well as communication brand positioning strategies
  • Develop and implement a digital marketing plan including SEO and PPC strategies
  • Create and manage link building strategies, content marketing strategies and social media presences, marketing automation and lead generation platforms
  • Keeping content updated on websites with images and updating and improving descriptions, linking products and upselling features
  • Analyse consumer behaviours and adjust campaigns accordingly
  • Scope design and oversee all print requirements through liaising with 3rd party companies


The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and qualifications...

  • A proven track record of successful achievement in Marketing, business growth and development gained over a minimum of 5 years' in a similar role, ideally within a in a fast paced £5M+ B2B organisation
  • Must be able to scope and implement new websites, CRM systems, landing automation platforms and other technological improvements within an organisation
  • You must have an up to date and thorough understanding of all digital marketing strategies including website platforms (WordPress) website analytics, SEO ,PPC, AdWords, link building, content marketing, landing pages, split testing and marketing automation etc
  • Astute multi tasker and hands-on approach, with strong business acumen
  • A High-calibre strategic thinker, with measured problem-solving, organisational, analytical and decision-making skills
  • You will be detail-orientated and numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a Related Field is desirable
  • Sales/sales management experience will be considered a bonus

Hours: Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm (can be flexible)


  • Salary £35,000 - £45,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
