We are currently looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team based in Perth on a 12-month fixed term contract with a possible extension to support recent business growth.



Current projects include copper, gold, coal and lithium plant design, construction, commissioning and optimisation. The successful candidates will have the right client and team focus, as well as a commitment to and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.



2021 looks like it will be a very busy and exciting year for Ausenco. As a result, we have this exciting opportunity.





About the role




  • Comply with relevant Ausenco policies and procedures and work within legal and regulatory frameworks.

  • Deliver design drafting according to key deliverables by preparing design drawings on time and in line with requirements.

  • Interpret and put into design the ideas of senior designers and engineers.

  • Liaise with engineers and senior designers for direction, specifications and feedback.

  • Demonstrate initiative in carrying out tasks independently and offering design suggestions.

  • Provide support and guidance to junior designers.

  • Technical diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Design/Drafting.

  • Minimum 5 years progressive design drafting experience, ideally within the mining and mineral processing industry.

  • Solid understanding of discipline specific software, ideally competency in Autocad and Prosteel. Experience with SmartPlant highly desirable.

  • Proven attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Written and oral communication skills.

  • Commitment and enthusiasm for learning.

  • Able to work and communicate in a team environment.
