Mechanical Engineer

To provide process engineering and mechanical engineering capabilities to assist in the preparation and presentation of tenders and proposals. Upon securing a contract / order the incumbent (depending upon the size and complexity of the project) may be required to operate independently or as part of a project team to design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and document the project.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • General
    • Provide mechanical and process engineering on projects according to the tender, order specification, execution including Plant Technical Documentation, Equipment Specification, Procurement, Workshop Inspection.
    • Provide process engineering troubleshooting and technical problem solving.
    • Contact with suppliers and clients or clients' representatives in the managing of the projects and tasks as required.
    • Apply mature engineering knowledge with scope for individual accomplishment and coordination of difficult and responsible engineering assignments.
    • Deal with problems for which it is necessary to modify established guides and devise new approaches.
    • Make some original contribution and/or apply new approaches and techniques to design or development of equipment or specific aspects of process plants and solutions.
    • Assist in the ongoing development of internal engineering systems.
    • Strong knowledge in mechanical calculation.
    • To prepare a Data Sheet equipment.
    • To make and check a mechanical calculation.
    • To check and analyze the mechanical drawing and component drawings.
    • Work cooperatively with the team of engineers in the Business Unit in the preparation of quotations, and submit and present these to the customers, when required.
    • Work cooperatively with technical staff from other Business units within the Company.
    • Work cooperatively with the Company administrative staff.

  • Administration:
    • Prepare special and regular sales reports for management.
    • Participate in preparation of national sales targets and budgets, and accounts for variances in results.
    • Maintain appropriate records including comprehensive call reports.
    • Keep up to date on all new products, product changes and general processing trends.
    • Prepare weekly timesheets and project reports.
    • Prepare and keep on schedule his/her activities in time.
    • Assist in other parts of the Company's business as required to ensure the overall effectiveness of the Company.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Strong sense of achievement; able to drive projects forward, expects good standards of work, tenacious, and able to overcome barriers/ solve problems.
  • Knowledge of local environment, culture and rules.
  • Team building skills, communication skills.
  • Demonstrate organization, time management and prioritization of work.
  • Experience with overall site conditions (EHS, Quality, Documentation, Tooling, etc.)
  • Knowledge of standard equipment to be installed. How to install it and how it should be running. Equipment tests to be done before commissioning. Machinery to be used during installation.
  • Knowledge of standard ASME;
  • Knowledge of standard NR12, NR13.
  • Knowledge about installation industries plant.
  • Experience with beverage / chemical / food / dairy industries.
