It comes with all the bells & whistles and some BIG shoes to fill too… We’re after a Paid Media Director to step in and take the reigns of one of Brissy’s most cherished and respected Digital Performance teams.

We’ve been working with our mates at Alpha Digital for quiteeee some time, so waving their flag ‘round and singing their praises is pretty much second nature by now. 

Everyone who’s anyone knows Alpha Digital. 

And you know why? 

They do good work and they’ve let their work do all of the talking for them. They work with the most epic brands and businesses like City Beach, Superga, Dissh, and Pillowtalk, Lorna Jane [and heaps more, obvs] getting them the most incredible results, time and time again.

But the best bit? They’re not part of a network. They’re homegrown, here in bloody beautiful Brisbane. And by golly, they are gooood. Actually, they’re the best.

Alright, enough horn tooting. We’re here to talk to YOU. You paid media lovin’ Performance Director, you. 

Let’s chat about the gig, shall we? 

As the Paid Media Director you’ll oversee the most epic team that delivers ‘all things’ digital media. So it goes without saying you’ll need to have some reaaal chops across a range of digital media channels like Paid Search, Social, Display, Video, Programmatic, Digital Audio, BVOD, DOOH and more. 

You’ll be playing a lead role in inspiring your team of 23 Paid Media superstars to create digitally-led + performance-driven solutions. All with the goal of bringing your department’s portfolio of clients closer to their audience. And of course, helping make Alpha Digital the most effective marketing partner in alllll the land. 

The aim of your game will be to champion the team and take the lead on team engagement, delivery of work, leading point on those BIG and delicious strategic client decisions while ensuring client retention and being accountable for the performance, growth, success and evolution of your department. 

In this gig, you’ll have an important seat and voice at the leadership table which is why we’re after a genuine, caring and high calibre leader. Someone who leads with integrity above all else and who leads by example with those deep technical skills in Paid Media. 

We’d like to think you’re someone who’s innovative and infatuated with always looking for ways to level up in the space, who relishes feedback from others, and who can bring some deeply considered opinions as to what the future of digital media and marketing looks like. Someone like… you?

Here’s a little sneak peak at what you’ll be getting up to in the gig: 

  • Leading and inspiring a team of 23 high performing Paid Media Executives, Specialists, and Account Managers fostering their individual professional development;
  • Setting, defining, and leading a responsive strategic vision for the Paid Media department;
  • Overseeing all workload planning, quality assurance and process improvement initiatives that will enable your department to deliver best-in-class outcomes; 
  • Building a warm, genuine and personable relationship with a number of BIG powerhouse brands under the management of your department, and exceeding their expectations every time; 
  • Managing your departments client portfolio, ensuring all client information is accurate and up to date; 
  • Staying abreast of performance media and marketing technology trends, recognising opportunities to apply these to meet client goals;
  • As part of the senior leadership team, contributing effectively towards the growth and development of the agency as a whole; And 
  • Identifying and developing new solutions to ensure Alpha Digital’s offering is continuously evolving, improving, and at the top of it’s game!

And.. here’s what we’re looking for in YOU:

  • 8+ years of senior Paid Media experience with at least 3-4 years in a leadership role preferably in an agency environment; 
  • Innate understanding of the global and local Digital Media ecosystem, including publishers, platforms, and technology players;
  • A strategic, empathetic and creative mindset; 
  • Brilliant interpersonal and client relationship management skills;
  • Experience with turning BIG client briefs into ripper digital marketing plans;
  • Strong experience leading a team with proven management experience;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and comms skills; 
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities; 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management experience; 
  • A keen understanding of agency economics; And
  • Incredible business acumen
