The position
This individual will establish and maintain long-term peer-to-peer clinical and scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals, engaging specialists at academic institutions and clinics to enhance disease/brand awareness, utilization, and comparative positioning of assigned medicines within Oceania. The role will report to the MSL Manager in Victoria.
The responsibilities:

  • A Senior MSL enhances patients' lives by serving as a medical leader, building and informing extensive medical knowledge to improve the medical benefits of our medicines and services. They are devoted to upholding Novo Nordisk’s (NN) therapeutic strategies, aiming to enhance patient outcomes and the quality of care in line with overall medical ambitions, plans, and NN Oceania policies.
  • Implementing a plan for timely, accurate, and credible medical communication to internal and external customers through direct and indirect interactions. Collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Patient Access and Public Affairs (PAPA), Clinical Medical Regulatory (CMR), Clinical Development Centre (CDC), and Global Medical Affairs (GMA) to maximize the NN product portfolio from medical and scientific perspectives.
  • Assisting with pre-launch and product launch preparation, including training, KOL mapping, and site identification support for CDC and PAPA. Utilizing medical and scientific liaison communication platforms regularly to review and share relevant literature, ensuring alignment in external communications for all medical scientific liaisons.
  • Develop and implement a customer engagement plan, organizing activities and programs to enhance customer awareness and advocacy of our products' scientific and medical attributes.

Qualifications

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD preferred as minimum education
  • At least 3+ years of MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a must. Extensive experience in Obesity and Diabetes would be preferred.
  • Approximately 70% travel (including overnight) including regional and interstate A valid driver’s licence is required.
  • Frequently works during evenings and weekends to attend congresses/forums
  • Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and extensive cross functional collaboration
