Business Unit Description:

The Nuclear New Build (NNB) team are the Programme Management Partner for the Client at Hinkley Point C.

This dynamic Team provide support to Buildings & Civils:

• Project Management & delivery of Building and Civil Work on the main construction site:
1. Conventional Island 
2. Balance of Plant
3. Nuclear Island
• Specific work packages include: 
1. Earthworks 
2. Main Civil Works 
3. Marine Works 
4. Heat Sink 
5. Project management & co-ordination of multi-disciplinary team to deliver scope

Client Overview:

Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site, based in West Somerset, 15 miles from Bridgwater. The NNB ambition is to build two major EPR nuclear plants.

The MEH Deputy Programme Director is responsible for the direction and leadership of all activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a major contract or contracts assigned to them within Main Civils, Nuclear Island, Conventional Island, Enabling, Balance of Plant, Balance of Contracts.

This post has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Programme.

We are seeking a Deputy Programme Director with the relevant discipline experience for the following area:

• MEH – Mechanical / Electrical / HVAC  

• Experience of managing & delivering projects £5BN+

• Effectively drive the programme & run it for HPC on a day-to-day basis

Dimensions:

The Main Programme is split into various programmes or work aligned to either plant islands or disciplined based scope; which are in turn broken down into further contracts or packages of work in accordance with the Contract and Work Breakdown Structure(s). Each programme will be delivered in part by resources and in part through one or more (interrelated) major contracts. 

• This post will manage major contracts. 
• Manage large, complex contracts – typically in capital value £5BN+.
• Manage direct reports – plus a matrix team of other disciplines forming the project delivery team.
• Include interaction with the client in France and/or with Site Construction Team although will still operate in a matrix management structure. This may involve the management of design (in France or UK), procurement; commercial and construction resources.
• The contract managed by the Project Manager may involve between 200-1000 contractor staff and numerous external stakeholders.

Main Accountabilities:

• Define the scope to be delivered within the main Programme.
• Securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team
