Mindshare is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for Director, Exchange Planning(hybrid) to join us.
In this role, you will be responsible for strategic engagement and steering the client’s marketing investment.  You  are primarily responsible for establishing  yourself  as a trusted adviser to the marketing team at a senior level of client to develop and embed credibility in the team and working process.

Measures of success
In three months:

  • To become completely familiar with the client’s organizational structure, planning process, marketing calendar and the needs of key stakeholders. To translate the client’s needs into clear direction and leadership for all Mindshare resources working on the account.  

In six months:

  • To be the recognized trusted advisor, execute “media first” innovations and deliver exceptional ROI for the brands/categories. Start building team capabilities and coaching them to deliver integrated planning and driving new services.

In 12 months:

  • To expand the range of non-traditional media investments the client makes, and to be the go-to person for all matters connected to media in the local market. To continually delight the client.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Entrenching critical client relationships that position as a principle business partner of the client/s. Be unafraid to push back, be audacious and stand your ground in terms of ideas.
  • Build client satisfaction by soliciting feedback and operating like a consultant
  • Acts as a client advisor by bringing a highly valued perspective to the client based on a deep understanding of their business, issues and opportunities
  • Generates and communicates a shared goal and unifies a team in the pursuit of a common objective.
  • Working with Business Planning to analyse the market situation of the client’s brands & products and translating in a way that the clients understand

What you will need:

  • In depth understanding of all communication channels and how they inter-relate.
  • Strong analytical skills and can use data to solve problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly evolved presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Understands strategic planning and broad implications on costs and timing.
  • Manage the team day-to-day acting as a mentor to junior employees. Conduct annual and interim appraisals of team members in a thorough and professional manner.
  • Prioritize tasks and appropriately delegate to individual members of the team, ensuring they are given adequate time, resource and are sufficiently trained to execute the tasks.
  • Experience in managing large projects including Content and Digital projects
  • Demonstrated experience and success working with the decision makers of organizations.
  • Significant proven experience of working with multiple stakeholders, e.g. suppliers, advertising/marketing agencies, media owners.
  • Shows a depth of understanding of the industry, business, brands and consumers in senior level client conversations.
  • Understands business principles and good practice and perceives issues in both financial and commercial terms.
  • Good negotiation and selling skills required to sell company products and services.
